Em’s Halloween Party

I am only about a month overdue on posting, I think it has taken me about that long to recover from having a KIDS party:)  We had 12 little kids and a bunch of parents (wanna be kids) over for Emersyn’s Halloween Party.   She was SOOOO excited about it and never stopped talking about her party.  She told EVERY person at Wal Mart for about a month that she was going to have a party with a pinata….and she got just what she wanted.  Here are a few of her party friends….

And Emersyn’s newest best friend…Kraeton.

Wondering what we did at our Kiddie Party???  Here is a quick rundown. 

***Crafts: glow in the dark coloring, foam haunted houses and stickers, and play dough.

***Games: pin the nose on the pumpkin, spider ring toss, darts, and bean bag toss.

 

Here is the master play dough maker.  The Cat in the Hat was a big hit at the craft table:)

Emersyn did not leave the stickers for 3 days before the party, most of the party, and 4 days after the party.  She was sticking stickers on foam haunted houses for over a week for hours a day and NEVER got sick of it.  If we had not run out of stickers, she would probably STILL be making haunted houses!!!

 

We also had a pumpkin hunt….think Easter Egg hunt but with plastic pumpkins.  It may have been the cutest thing ever…..12 little kids running and screaming…..6 of the littlest ones not even really trying to find pumpkins….just running and screaming because they had no idea what was going on….CUTE!!!!

 

AND the highlight of the day (for the kids not the parents) was Dora.  I have wanted to hang her from the rafters for months now….And then beat her with a stick….it was very cathartic:)  Anyway….It was pretty terrifying to have all of the kids in the garage and ONE kid with a giant stick.   There is NOOOO way a mother came up with this particular party game….for sure a man or a single person thought a stick and a bunch of candy hungry kids was  a good idea.

 

The best part of the pinata was Emersyn’s reaction.   She ran around the circle of crazed kids….unable to get into the pile of candy.  THEN she got ONE piece of candy….ran to her Grandma…..and jumping up and down like a lottery winner she yelled…”I got one I got ONE.”  She was SOOO excited to have gotten ONE piece of candy from a pinata that had about 30 bucks worth of stuff shoved into it…..NOW THAT IS PRICELESS!!!

      

All in all the day was a success.  Em had fun.  The kids went home with bags of junk.  The parents got to eat yummy snacks that the kids were tooooo busy to eat.  And nobody got hurt.  AHHHHH sweet success!!
