WOW!! where has the time gone??

Well--I hope you all have not been dying for an update. I always think about posting, but then I decide I would rather do other things (like sleep or eat). We successfully made it through our first month and everything is going pretty well. Emersyn is growing like a champ. She is such a good baby. She hardly ever cries (except when she is hungry) and is a very happy baby. I am lucky because I have never been blessed in the patience department. She is amazing.

We made it back to church finally last week and had Emersyn blessed. She was awake and wiggling around, but didn't scream, which was my worst nightmare. She slept through most of church, except during the prayers of course. She was either farting or smiling or doing something to make Jenny, me and the two benches around us laugh inappropriatly. I still have a sub for one more week, but then I am back to teaching primary. It was nice to just sit in church with no responsibility, but I do miss the cuties in my primary class too. These are not great pictures of her in her cute little white dress, but she was worn out from church and was not cooperating so great. Plus it was lunch time at Grandma June's and so we were all a little bit ready to eat:)

I don't know why, but I always feel the need to take pictures of her when she is sleeping. I should be doing laundry or cooking dinner, but NOPE--I would rather stare at my baby. I think it is sleep deprivation. I have decided that God made babies so cute so that we would adore them even though they cause us pain and misery. Don't get me wrong, there are good moments too, but I think the cuteness gets me through the screaming and middle of the night feedings.

One more thing. I must give a shout out to my family and friends. As you all probably know, I am abnormally independent. It is an actual weakness of mine. I would rather do horribly on my own than accept help from others a lot of the time. Well without going into the crazy details, I have been forced to accept help from so many people now I have lost count. BUT the one thing that I cannot beleive that anyone would do for me, was done for me. Since my incision is still being stupid and wants to remain open until I have another child, I have had to have lots of help. For a week, I actually had to have my friends and family shove clean gauze into my disgusting gaping, seeping, bleeding wound TWICE a day. The following people are on my list for sainthood for doing this: My mom, my sister, my husband, and my Bobbie. I honestly don't think I could do the same for you guys, but I really appreciate your willingness to do this gross job. Especially my poor husband. I usually get sick of hearing other people talk about how AMAZING their husbands are because I am like "come on...they must snore or have smelly feet or something." BUT for once I will give my husband a public thumbs up. By the way... I go to the doctor tomorrow to see if my incision is making progress. Wish me luck!! Here is a picture of my sister and Emersyn. She was the only family member not shown so far, so I thought I would post this shot.

I love the picture of her sleeping with her hands up by her face:) She is sure filling out and getting chunky! I hope they say your incision is getting better, or maybe you need to hurry and have another one so that it will close:) I miss ya and am glad to see that you hadn't forgotten about blogging!

I was missing new pictures of sweet Emersyn...even though I got to spend a wonderful day with you two last weekend! I didn't know she was being blessed on Sunday! I hope that was a special time for your family!
Miss you - see you tomorrow?!

for what it's worth Jess I would fill your owie full of gauze if I was anywhere near you! Good luck with the Dr. it sounds like it hurts! Emersyn is so cute! I can't believe you have a baby!!! Speaking of laughing at church... A couple of years ago I remember being in Columbia Basin wards sacrament and we where so loud that your mom kept turning around and giving us the mad mom look! haha! The funniest part is I think you where like 24 and I was 20! haha. Love ya!

Emersyn is a doll! I love her little white dress! And I am also guilty of taking sleeping baby pictures! I have so many that it is ridiculous, but they are just so cute (and peaceful, I might add) while they are sleeping!
I hope things go well at the dr. Good luck!

She's so cute! What great pictures of her in her blessing dress. I hope you get recovering quickly as well. That's gotta be rough! Glad Emersyn's such a good baby for you though, and I agree with you about the cuteness factor. As she gets older, that could quite possibly be the only thing that keeps her alive in certain situations! :)

I just wanted to say thank you for letting me come crash you’re Saturday, even though you had your hands full and tons of things to do. I loved hanging out with you and Emersyn. Just to let you know I will pack your wounds and carry your kitty litter any day. That's what friends are for right??
