I need a vacation so that I can blog about my darn VaCaTiOn!!!

I am a little (a lot) behind in blogging this month, so I plan to SLOWLY get back into it and catch up a bit.  To start....our family vacation day ONE.....We started off the morning at a lovely little beach at Hayden Lake.  It only took us an hour of driving around the lake to find a place without a big BEAUTIFUL lake house on it with a private dock.  Poor rich people and their private lake.  BUT we finally found this little public beach and EM was ready.  She has been looking for the beach and asking about the beach for about hmmmmmmm 6 months now.
We were really heading to Silverwood and I did not wanna pack Em's wet suit around Silverwood all day SOOO we White Trashed it and Em wore her pull-up to play in the water.  She didn't care that we were ghetto and had a blast.  She dug and dug and played in the water and dug.  What could be better????
Next we headed to Silverwood.  First stop (after the bathroom) was the Merry Go Round.  YEP ALL OF US.
Holding on for dear life!!
I even put some extra pressure on one of the poor horses and took it for a rid.  That horsey was probably feeling it the next day:)
The greatest part of this trip....we had mom, dad, Marilee, Kevin, Jen, Creete, Todd, Me, AND EM.  Yep....that means 5 helpers for Emersyn and I NEEDED it!!
Dad and Creete like ALL of the same things.  Creete is lucky to have a 5 year old grandpa to hang out with:)
Sadly, that is about as long as Miss Em lasted.  She zonked out right in the middle of Silverwood.  Grandma passed her to me and I sat by while EVERYONE else went to stand in line for a ride.  1 and 1/2 hours later....after ONE ride....my family returned and I was still sitting on my bench with my tired kiddo and no feeling in the right side of my body.  Nobody told me that Silverwood pretty much sucked for mommy's to be AND small children....better luck next time I guess.
Em did perk up a bit when we got on the train (who doesn't like a good train ride??).
That is her "smiley face."  Cute huh??
She was not REAL sure about the train robbery.  When the train robber came to take her money she hit his bag away and screamed at him NO NO!!!  She finally gave up her 50 cents, but she was NOT happy about it:)
She WAS happy about her ice-cream cone.  She wanted a pink cone and HELLO----they gave her the biggest pink cone I have ever seen.
Funny story about our trip to the ice-cream parlor.  I asked for 2 scoops---one of something sour and one of something sweet.  The lady asked if that was FOR SURE what I wanted and I argued.  Yes of course I know what I want---2 scoops.  I was thinking ONE scoop full of each color---right???
Check out those scoops.  No wonder the lady thought I was crazy!!!  It was enough ice-cream for the whole family---not that I shared with them but.....
It was embarrassing just sitting there all fat and pregnant with the huge mound of ice-cream---good thing I have very little pride left:)
Like I mentioned before....Em was not a huge Silverwood fan.  We did get her to go on one ride (since there are only 3 rides for little kids).  Her and Creete flew in the airplane and she mostly looked around like she wanted to jump ship the whole time.  I guess she isn't a ride kinda gal.  She also kicked Snoopy (like from Garfield).  She hates people dressed up like stuff--Santa, giant Teddy Bears, The Easter Bunny---so when Snoopy showed up she kicked him and then stayed away from him.   I guess maybe we might not get a cute Santa picture AGAIN this year:)
Next we hit the Boulder Beach Water Park.  FINALLY a place where Em could have fun.  She rode down the little slides and then would jump off and scream "try again try again!!!"  We really should have just spent the whole day in the waterpark instead of the rest of the park.....maybe next time!!!
We spent some fun time on the Lazy River.  Em liked it cause we kept going under Troll Bridges---yep we watch way too much DORA:)
The best part though was when Jen tried to get onto her tube and TOTALLY ended up UPSIDE down in the water.  The ONE person who didn't wanna get wet was stuck half in and half out of her tube----funny funny.  I realize you had to be there, but it still makes me giggle.
The BEST part of the night though was a complete surprise and accident.  I told everyone that I would only stay there IF we did something that required NO WALKING!!!  So we happened upon the Ice-Skating show and wandered in.  It was AMAZING!!!  They were SUPER good and the whole thing was great----and I got to SIT and watch.
Vacation DAY 1 was not ALL great, but was for the most part a success!!!
Also pretty funny was Emersyn's bath that night.  We upgraded our room and had a HUGE jacuzzi tub.  She got in with TONS of bubbles and her dad---what else could be better for a 2 year old???  She kept grabbing hands full of bubbles and throwing them at Todd and yelling "Snowball fight."  She cracks me UP!!!!
We also were in a bit of a jam that night for night night stories.  Em wanted me to read her a book and I had left them all in the car SOOOOO we searched the drawers of the hotel and found The Book Of Mormon.  She was thrilled to look at pictures of Jesus and Joseph Smith----by the end of vacation she could tell me....Nephi made a boat, Rone-I buried the book, Joseph Mith went to the trees---she memorized all of the pictures---I guess we should read it more at home and see what she learns:)
Phewwww....that was a long one.  Now you know why I am still so TIRED after this trip---it was jam packed.  Even blogging about it is wearing me out---Night Night!!!

The pictures of Emerson's grandma and grandpa on the merry-go-round are priceless! So much better going places like that with family to help.
