For months I have been telling Emersyn that she needed to act like a big girl because she was going to be a big sister. AND for months she has been saying..."But I am not a big sister YET!!!!"
Well the months have passed and she is NOW a big sister. AND what does a big sister DO while her little brother is being born and getting to know everyone?????
She was put in the capable hands of Grandma Marilee (Grandma Judy was put in charge of....ME). She thought the hospital was pretty cool. I didn't get to experience most of the day with her (which made me kinda sad), but she told me all about her fun day. She got to see the enormous fish tank in the Pediatric wing.
Play in the toys at Burger King.
Have a tea party with her dad.
Play lots of Hungry Hippos. WHICH by the way was a gift from Baby Ethan. Amy told me that she had read somewhere about bringing a gift to the hospital from the new baby FOR the big sister. I did this and Em still says that Baby Brother gave her a present. It at least gave them a little bit of a bond on day one....plus now Em has a fun game that she thinks her brother picked out for her.
Em also did a lot of patient waiting and A LOT of present opening. It was ACTUALLY Ethan's birthday, but it SEEMED like Emersyn's birthday:) She made a haul!!!
BUT the best part of the day.....getting a new baby brother. She has also been asking for months if he could come out "just for a little minute." She wanted him to come out and said I could put him back in my belly after we looked at him. OH how fun would that have been:) BUT her expression upon seeing her new brother was SOOOO cute. She just smiled wanted to kiss and touch him.
She also kept telling Grandma Marilee...."put him back over there (in the crib) so he will be warm and cozy." She wanted her to put him back so that she could hold Em and play with her. That is really the only little bit of jealousy we have seen from her. Other than that....
I think it was love at first sight!!!!
