Big E and little e

Well Spring came and went and Summer is in full swing everywhere...except here on the old blog.  I have once again let things get behind.  I often consider just giving it up, but then I see my blog books all lined up and full of fun memories from Emersyn's first few years.  Then I get that Mommy Guilt happening.  The kind that believes that kid 2 deserves books filled with his fun memories too.  His book however may be more of a childhood synopsis than a complete journal...but that is what he gets for coming SECOND I guess.
Anyway...we had a GREAT and busy spring.

The kids managed somehow to get EVEN CUTER.  I am not sure how that happened???  Emersyn grew up into a fab 5 year old and Ethan started REALLY using some words.  He FINALLY learned to say Emersyn (actaully Memma), which somehow made her LIKE him a bit more. SO instead of her locking him out of her room for hours at a time...she actually spends most of her day playing WITH him.  I love watching them play together!!!  He idolizes her and she bossses him around....works out perfectly!!
Ethan wants to be JUST like his sister.  If SHE wants to be a princess....Than HE wants to be a princess too!!!  Sometimes I just sit back and listen to them play house.  She calls him HONEY or HUSBAND and bosses him around like a slave.  He puts the babies in the stroller and goes for super fast rides...usually down the stairs.  She sets up a perfect little tea party complete with little cakes and forks.  And he proceeds to dump all of the fake food into the toilet.  BUT somehow it all works for them.
Emersyn found a copy of HOME ALONE at a yard sale and they were both REALLY EXCITED!!!
They constantly fight over who gets to sit in the favorite chair or who gets to pick what show to watch...but occassionaly they both give in and decide to share.
Emersyn is ALL girl and Ethan is ALL boy, so they just agree to disagree on most things.
They are both goof balls and they BOTH love to show me how goofy they are.  They are always coming to show me their latest shenanigan and asking for me to take a silly picture of them.
When she is NOT screaming at him to leave her alone or crying because he has broken one of her special toys, Emersyn is THE BEST big sister.  She is so patient with Ethan and tries to help him learn.  She is also quick to remind him that she is bigger and better and smarter, but that SOME day he will be a big kid too...so nice of her:)

They are both silly and goofy and there is nothing I love more than listening to them from another room and hearing them laugh and laugh at some silly little thing.
Making Grandma Judy a birthday cake!!!

Their cute little friendship has grown even more now that the weather is nice.  They play outside for hours....dragging blankets and pillows and baby dolls outside for a long drawn out game of  house.
OR learning new tricks on the swingset...
or racing each other down the slip and slide.

Even occassionally a buck naked snack!!!
Poor Ethan is going to be beside himself when we have to send Emersyn off to Kindergarten in the fall.  She is his buddy, his hero, and his favorite person to terrorize.

I love these two crazies and LOVE to watch them grow up together.  Watching them play together and keep each other entertained is the ONLY thing that makes the tantrums, nightime visits, and crazyness of being a mom all worth it.  I just want to squeeze them and keep them this young and happy forever (minus the diapers and crying and messes of course).

When I started writing this blog post I planned on blogging about what all we have been up to this spring...but as I looked through the photos, I could not help but notice all of the pictures of these two together.  They just kept popping up.  And I realized that MORE than I wanted to remember all of the events and activities that we ran around to, I wanted to always remember the way these two were together at THIS moment in their lives.  They are my life and even though it is hard sometimes to be a mom...I would not trade these little moments for anything!!!
