Well after a weekend of partying, Emersyn's REAL birthay finally rolled around on Sunday. Todd and I stayed up late filling the living room with balloons...and watching Gold Rush (don't knock it till you try it). Since it was going to be her ACTUAL birthday I wanted her to have SOMETHING left to be excited about.
She woke up OLDER and THRILLED to see the balloons...and a few stragler presents. I NEVER make breakfast...especially not on a Sunday, so I decided to make chocolate chip muffins to celebrate!!! Ethan was DETERMINED that she had to have a candle to blow out too.
When I asked her on the way to church what she had wished for she said..."for my family to be the best family ever and that we will be together forever." Ummm...how do you respond to that??? She is such a sweet little thing that I just want to keep her little forever!!!
We got Em a playhouse for her birthday...it did NOT come assembled!!! It was hilarious to watch Todd put it together with his two little helpers...Ethan was determined to use all the tools. But it has been a big hit and as long as we answer the door when Ethan rings the doorbell and eat Emersyn's pretend food she cooks for us, everyone is happy!!!
We have a tradition of eating popcorn for dinner on Sunay nights...and birthdays are no exception. Ethan does NOT let us forget about popcorn. He gets the popper out...plugs it in...and helps unwrap the butter whether we want popcorn or not.
And since Emersyn's SCHOOL birthday was the next day at pre-school, we also made some chocolate chip cookies. Emersyn didn't want cupcakes beacause EVERYONE always brings cupcakes...so she took chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk. COULD SHE BE ANY MORE LIKE HER MOTHER???? I don't think so!!!
I cannot believe she has grown up so fast (especially since her mom feeds her popcorn and cookies for dinner), but I am SOOO glad that she enjoyed EVERY SINGLE second of her birthay weekend!!!
