I love Fall!!! I super dooper love everything about it. I love the weather, and the colors, and the fun activities and the holidays. I love crisp mornings and warm jackets and HOT chocolate. I love pumpkins and scarecrows and turkey and leaves. I LOVE FALL!!! This week we have been enjoying some slow days at home because Emersyn has spent the week fighting her way back from a cold. We have gone to the pumpkin patch, and dug out our snuggly coats, and played some flag football. AND today....we got to play outside in the yard with Bobbie and Bode---A nice treat.
Ethan wanted to EAT SAND...period. I gave him toys, warned him, begged him, and threatened him. NOTHING. He JUST WANTED TO EAT SAND!!! OH and smile too. Because come on....he was pretty darn proud of himself.
If you have not met Ethan personally you might not know, but this is his "Ha Ha I am not listening to you and I think it is funny" laugh!!! He does it quite often. I hate to admit it, but it is heart meltingly cute. He did it really big yesterday when him and Emersyn traveled to the top of the stairs...BY THEMSELVES. Meaning TINY crawled up a whole flight of stairs without supervision (unless you count a 3 year old cheerleader with a whistle). Boys are just a WHOLE other being than little girls...dirty little daredevils!!!
We also got to carve our pumpkins. ACTUALLY yesterday Emersyn finger painted 3 of the pumpkins. Now they look like big black blobs. We saved the 2 larger orange ones for carving....BARELY.
She was not so sure about the GUTS. EWWWW GUTS!!!!
Ethan had NO problem with the guts.
In fact his ONLY problem was leaving the guts ALONE!!!
We got a witch and a bat (somehow the bat didn't make it in any pictures). Em thought it was pretty cool to put the candle in and have it out on the porch. BTW....I stole (actually I DID ask first) the milk jug from Grandma June. I was wandering through the junk in her shed and found like 5 of the darn things. I NEEDED ONE!!! She said that her and Grandpa Max used to look all over at antique stores for them. She was going to paint them, but never got around to it. I decided to keep it unpainted for now, but I cannot WAIT to really cute it on up. It makes me happy just looking at it and because I can just imagine Cutie Pie Grandpa Max driving Grandma all over the country to find a milk jug. I can just hear him complaining, but secretly enjoying himself because he got to stop for a doughnut.....Not sure wher that little tangent came from.
I should have at least straighted the flowers after the wind storm, but I WAS BUSY CARVING PUMPKINS:)
Just kidding....we ALL know that Todd carved the pumpkins and I picked out the seeds. There is only ONE artist in our family!!!
Emersyn told me today that she liked AUTUMN (they learned about autumn a few weeks back in pre-school). By the size of that cute little smile I would say she LOVED Autumn....and I second that!!!
