Ethan is 8 months old today. SERIOUSLY!!! He is cuter than ever and FULL of brand new tricks:)
He stands up ALL day...except when he falls and bonks his head (which is about 100 times a day). His head has a permanent bruise on it and we rarely go 20 minutes without hearing a loud knock followed by ear piercing screams. I forget how much I dislike the LEARNING TO WALK phase. Of course Ethan will not admit that he CANNOT walk....he pulls up on EVERYTHING, then he turns away from the table and lets go...completely expecting his legs to work and then FACE PLANTS into the floor. His mind is ready to walk, but his poor little baby legs just cannot keep up.
Ethan is a pretty happy little guy....except when he ISN'T. And then WATCH OUT!!!! He still only has 2 teeth, although we worked hard at teething for about a month (24 hours a day). He was cranky, not sleeping, drooling, chewing on his hand, pulling his ear, and all out not pleasant, but his little top teeth never managed to poke through. He looks pretty stinking cute though with the two that he has.
He crawls faster than I can walk. He can appear and disappear before you know what happened. He recently taught himself to climb the stairs and today he climbed ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP. He only went up 4 before I caught him and followed him up, but my heart was still racing.
He has formed a new friendship....THE TOILET. He loves to splash around in there...GROSS I KNOW. Yesterday when I got out of the shower I caught him dipping toilet paper in there and then sucking the water out. Seriously almost vomited. If only that was the grossest thing he had eaten though. BUT IT ISN'T. He got caught with some cat poop---headed to his mouth, but NOT quite there. He DID however make it all the way there with some soft cat food. I gagged, held him over the sink, cleaned out his mouth with soap and water, and cried a little bit. I realize I MAY have overreacted.....
His smile is contagious. He smiles at anyone and everyone. Little old ladies in the grocery store LOVE him because he smiles ALL THE TIME. They all think he is flirting with JUST them:)
He super dooper LOVES eating. He will eat ANYTHING that he can pick up on his own, and would really like to give up eating baby food all together. He snacks ALL day and still eats good at meal time. Right now his favorites are yogurt bites, cheesy puffs, and bananas. Although anything that I am eating is at the top of the list also.
Happy 8 month birthday Little E!!!

I have to say the permanent forehead bruise is a "boy thing". My daughter never hit their heads like Trevor has. It does eventually go away..rest assured. I have been lucky that my kids aren't hand to mouth investigators so all your "potty mouth" comments made me chuckle..i would definitely have reacted the same way. He has beautiful eyes!
