Emersyn got a good surprise this year for her birthday. She got a special visit from Grandpa Jon. Jon, Nick, Mary, Elizabeth, and Grandma Betty all came to visit and spend the day with Emersyn on her special birthday. Grandpa wanted to take the kids fishing, so we headed to Columbia Park.
Actually I headed to Walmart to buy the kids fishing gear (Barbie for Em and Spiderman for Ethan). Clearly you can fish without a pink pole, but when you are a fishing diva...every detail matters!!! The kids were MOST excited about the fact that their poles came with sunglasses
Grandpa Jon had all the good stuff in his tackle box...but he was nice enough to share a few things with Emersyn so that her Barbie box would not be empty:)
I think Em thought the fish were just going to chase after her line and she would pull them right in. She didn't find watching the ball SUPER exciting.
Ethan took an unexpected dip in the water and decided fishing wasn't his cup of tea. He DID like throwing rocks in though!!
We didn't catch anything, but we had fun anyway.
We got to see LOTS of baby geese which were SOOO cute!!
And we got to hang out with THIS girl...which is ALWAYS a good time!!!
