Christmas Day 2011

Merry Christmas from THE PERKINS....What??? It is February you say?? Well I guess you should come over here and watch my kids for me one of these days so that i can catch up on my blog already.  NO???  Ok then..no complaints:) This was my FAVORITE Christmas with kids so far.  Emersyn is THE PERFECT holiday age.  Each year I have had high expectations for her loving and adoring her presents and EACH year I am disappointed.  BUT NOT THIS YEAR!!!  She was soooo much fun and LOVED every second of the Holiday season this year.
Twinkle came to live at our house after Thanksgiving and kept us on our best behavior.  Emersyn was not so sure about him at first, and didn't want to name him.  THEN she named him Tree Top...not sure why???  THEN she found out that Laney had an elf too, so then ours had to be twins with hers....so he became Twinkle.  Seriously....he was A LOT of work!!!  Anyway... the only thing Emersyn told him that she wanted was a PillowPet....A rainbow unicorn PillowPet.  LUCKILY Santa came through and she was THE HAPPIEST little girl in the world.  She got LOTS of bigger better gifts, but the pillowpet was the ONLY one she told people about....I guess it works listening to what they want:)
Ethan was MOSTLY just excited by the access to food at Christmas.  He even managed to swipe Santa's leftovers....nothing like a cookie at 6 in the morning to start the day off right!!!
 Cute excited expressions...
 Dress Up shoes...
Cute kids peeking from behind Dora houses...
CHRISTMAS WAS SOOO CUTE AT OUR HOUSE:)
Ethan finally got some boy toys.  No more Barbies for him:)  He loved his big boy truck and caught on to the honking horn RIGHT away!!
I think this was the year of Dora at our house.  We seemed to have a bit of a theme going!!!
Emersyn also got a Dora Dollhouse.  I was SOOO hoping she would love it and YAY SHE DID!!!
Ethan got a big boy carseat.  It doesn't take much to make THIS boy happy;)

As a parent, picking out gifts always worries me.  I tend to OVERTHINK and buy toys that are too OLD for my kids.  This year I FINALLY got it right and they played and played.   Nothing like a kid having fun on Christmas morning to make it ALL worth it.
After church, our family headed to Jen's house for Christmas Day festivities.  Emersyn got a dress up kit from my mom that was INSTANTLY a big hit.  She morphed into a rockstar and NEVER turned back.  She danced, sang, and entertained us ALL day.

Ethan was not sure about his new hat from Jen.
These two goofballs however had NO problem showing off their monkeys!!

Christmas is hard work for babies....
 AND Papas too I guess!!!
I am not sure how, but we FINALLY got us all in the same place at the same time.
After Jen's, we had ONE more party at Grandma Marilee's.  The kids got MORE presents, we ate MORE food, and had MORE fun.
AND Emersyn was still a Rockstar...haha!!
Despite being a little late, we DO wish everyone a Merry Christmas...maybe early for NEXT year!!!
