Winter Wonderland!!

In December Todd and I took a weekend trip to Leavenworth.  It was the weekend before we headed to Seattle for Ethan's surgery and we thought a little BREAK would be good for us.  It was SOOO much fun to just wander around without a stroller and shop without breaking anything.
We took a carriage ride, which I LOVED!!!  It was perfect to ride through the town and hear the horses feet clopping along.  BUT I now realize why in all of the books I read they have so many important conversations during carriage rides.  It took a LONG time to go up that main street:)
The main reason I wanted to go was to see the amazing Christmas lights.  They did NOT disappoint.  Everything was bright and beautiful.
Kids sledding in the commons area, singers belting out Christmas carols, and beautiful lights....it was like a scene from a movie.  Funny thing though...they had to ship the snow in because there was no snow this year for the first time in YEARS.  It didn't bother me, but it was nice to watch the "Christmas Story" kids sledding down the hill.
My pictures do NOT do it justice, but that didn't stop me from snapping away.  I just wanted to capture how CHRISTMAS-EY it all looked.

I think Leavenworth is such a beautiful place...I just wanted to drink cocoa and eat gingerbread.  And I DID do those things, but we also shopped, ate the best Mexican food EVER, slept in, napped, and bought some Christmas presents.

I even managed to get a shot of the dentist office for DOCTOR RYAN:)
Our hotel room was HUGE.  We had a kitchen, living room, separate bedroom, HUGE bathroom, a jacuzzi tub, and NO KIDS!!!  I slept for 8 un-interruped hours AND managed to sew a pillow:)
Now I just need ANOTHER long weekend to get ready for...well for next week:)
