Swim Swim!!

Emersyn has been going to swimming lessons for the past two weeks at 845 in the morning....I am sooo glad to be done.  We are always up around 6, but being out of the house so early has been like going to school...WE ARE NOT READY FOR SCHOOL!!!  A few weeks ago when I asked Emersyn if she wanted to do swimming lessons she told me...MAYBE WHEN I AM 8.  Needless to say...she did NOT want to go.  Even on the first day she was not very happy about going.
BUT she is a trooper.  She listened to her teachers, carefully climbed in, and then clung to the wall.

After a few days though she got WAY more comfortable.  Instead of doing BOBS without getting her hair wet, she taught herself to go ALL the way under and do 7 in a row.  She was SUPER proud of her BOBS and if you ask her about swimmming lessons...she WILL tell you how she can do BOBS!!

Ethan mostly hung out and ate snacks durning swim lessons.  I RARELY let go of him because he would run STRAIGHT for the water, but if I could keep the snacks coming we were ok!!  We only had one SUPER close call where he ran and jumped in....I BARELY managed to catch him mid jump by grabbin him by the back of the shirt.  The whole parent section was holding there breath on that one...crazy boy!!
The only thing Em NEVER got was jumping in.  She would stand there, get all ready to jump in....
and then turn and climb in.  It was pretty cute.  She would jump in if her teacher caught her, but otherwise...NO WAY!!
On Fridays, they had fun Friday and got to play around in the pool.  Todd went to watch and we both got a BIG surprise.  Emersyn went off the diving board.  It was actually pretty terrifying.  All of the kids went to stand in line and Emersyn just followed right along with them.  THEN when it was her turn to climb the ladder she looked  up and starting backing up like...NO WAY!!  But one of the lifeguards grabbed her and helped her up the ladder.  Then she saw the board out in front of her and starting SLOWLY walking towards the end.  I was holding my breath hoping someone would catch her.  Then she froze up...I froze up...THEN the lifeguard picked her up and DROPPED her into the pool.  Of course her head went under the water and she came up with HUGE EYES and a panicked look on her face.  BUT she did it.  This Friday though she informed me she WOULD NOT be going off the diving board again!!!

She is now a little fish and wanted me to sign her up for TWO more weeks.  As much as I love her, I could not imagine fighting Ethan for two more weeks.  SOOO she will have to wait until next year for some more BOBS;)
