SOOO I pretty much JUST recovered, but our Halloween party was actually about a month ago....YOU KNOW like on Halloween:) This year Emersyn picked the theme WAY in advance...I think it was still during the summer actually. She wanted a Madacascar 3 CIRCUS party. SOOO I did my absolute very best (without going over budget) to try to turn our house into a three ring circus!!

Let me just say that Todd was NOT thrilled with this idea. He saw the picture on Pinterest and told me NO WAY. I kept telling him...I REALLY think it will work. He did a LOT of eye rolling and muttering and then went and got to work. AND YES...it worked!!!
Emersyn had a BALL decorating the house!!
She was PRETTY proud of her creations!!! NOTE TO SELF...a roll of streamers can keep two kids happy for a VERY long time!!
Princess Merida (hint: from Brave)!! We took A LONG time picking out Emersyn's costume this year. We went to three or four stores and she just COULD NOT decide. THEN she saw the Princess Jasmine costume at Toys R Us and we had a winner. We picked it out, got the matchng shoes, went and stood and line...AND THEN... I said..."you know this is pants right???" Now if you know Emersyn you KNOW that she has not work pants since LAST FALL when her mom forced her to wear them for school pictures and she cried for an hour. SOOO I thought I better point out that Jasmine's costume, although beautiful, was in fact pants. She rolled her eyes and said "no it not...SEE." And then she saw (even with her eyes rolled in the top of her head) that Jamine was not the girly princess she had imagined and decided to put the costume back. FYI...for a mommy who REALLY wanted to spend HORRENDOUS amounts of money while on the Disney Cruise on the Jessie the Cowgirl costume with matching Buzz Lightyear for Ethan---the no pants rule was a REAL downer!! So after our failed trip to ALL the stores we did an online search and she decided on Merida (which was at the FIRST store we had looked at by the way) and mommy went BACK out shopping (without her shopping buddy!!).
PHEWWW enough with the rant!!! Now onto some fun pictures of US and our guests... We have the Circus Family..

Emersyn's two worlds collided when all of her friends from school and life came to the same party. We worked hard trying to keep ALL of those girls happy...there was PLENTY of Emersyn to go around:)
I wish I had a better picture of my dady. He SHOCKED me by showing up as a clown. I seriously have the greatest family ever...they will do ANYTHING to make my kids smile!!
Besides candy and craziness, we had plenty of games and activities.
I attempted a cake walk (remember how cool it was when we were in elementary and you won A CAKE!!!), but with too many four year olds it was a bit of a mess. BUT they did have fun doing the other games.
Somehow Emersyn even got Kevin to be a dancing bear and Marilee to be a Lion. That girl JUST has to mention that Kevin could wear a tutu and a pink bow...and that is what he does!! We know who the REAL boss is:)
We tried to get the kids to eat SOMETHING besides candy...but I am not sure they did much eating.
Especially with Ethan the Alligator running around stealing everyone's corndogs!!
Oh well...Candy and chips is good enough for anyone (actually it sounds pretty good right now..haha).
We had to chase people down with cotton candy because we had A FEW extra bags. You see Emersyn ALSO mentioned that it would be cool to have a cotton candy machine and her mom HAD to run right out and get one. AND because Todd and I didn't have enough going on with a party and the decorations and snacks AND ballet lessons and a million other things...we needed to be Cotton Candy makers as well!!! I am NOT going to lie...I thought it would be super hard. BUT it ended up being fun, not TOO messy, and maybe my favorite part of the day. I guess you are NEVER to old to learn something new:)
All in all the party was a success. Ethan got to eat candy---his absolute favorite thing on the planet. And Emersyn got to hang out with ALL of her friends. AND happy kids is what is all about...RIGHT???
