A VERY merry Christmas

IMG_0304

Christmas morning is one of my favorite parts of being a parent.  Besides the part where you don’t get credit for any of the good stuff....the REST of the morning is MAGIC!!!  This year did not disappoint.  Everyone was excited, Santa came, and we had snow...PERFECT!

Emersyn and Ethan are still little enough that Christmas morning is still a SLOW and LONG process.  You have to prompt them to open MORE presents and dig in their stockings.  Ethan got side-tracked when he discovered Santa had brought him candy.  He was completely happy with his stocking filled with chocolate...my kinda kid.

Somebody was pretty excited about his tool bench....thank goodness.  Not to mention even MORE candy!!!

Ethan found all sorts of things to fix with all of his new tools:) Ethan also got some BIG boy BOY toys...A remote control train and a monster truck and about a million other things that are now strewn haphazardly all over my floor.  He was glad to get some cool toys, but the real hit was his new vacuum.  Not even kidding.  He LOVES to play with ours, so we decided to get him his own in the hopes that ours would survive a little longer.  Yes it is a REAL vacuum...toy ones are hard to find, pink, and MORE expensive than real ones.  BUT no worries because he HATES the sound of the vacuum and so doesn’t ACTUALLY plug it in.

Todd got deodorant in his stocking (that Santa is pretty sensible you know) and Ethan had to show him how to use it.  He never stops cracking me up...except when he is making me scream or pull my hair out that is.  Emersyn did not get forgotten for sure.  She got La La Loopsy, some gold sparkly boots,  a Polly Pocket roller skate city and any other girlie thing her mom or Santa fond at the store.

Todd got a remote control helicopter (to replace the other TWO helicopters that have lost their life at our house).  Ethan LOVES to have his daddy fly the helicopter....we hear about it ALL day until Todd gets home to fly it for him.

Miss Emersyn got the FLUFFIEST skirt EVER and had to model it for me before heading off to Jen and Ryan’s for Christmas breakfast.  She is also sporting her new scarf and mittens.  She asked Cookie the Elf for a scarf and mittens AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE after SANTA had already finished buying all of the Christmas presents.  So SANTA searched and searched for a kid sized scarf, but to no avail.  My mom happened to be visiting her neighbor who was knitting a scarf for her grand-daughter and mentioned that Emersyn had asked for one.  WELL long story short Sister Mathews wanted to make Emersyn a scarf because she thinks she is stinking cute (which she is) and so she knitted for 2 straight days to get it done in time for Christmas Eve.  She wrapped it up and brought it over to Emersyn and they were BOTH as happy as can be about the deal.  It was by far the sweetest thing I have ever seen!!!

Next we headed to Jen’s for some cousin time.  We got Creete a Zombie science kit that makes zombie brains, barf, and skin....all of which is edible.  GROSS I know, but it is what he asked for.  He could not wait to eat his barf....boys are so weird.

christmas 121christmas 122

Emersyn scored a Barbie Dream Castle from Jen and Ryan and has played with it and protected it from her brother EVER since.

christmas 123christmas 124

After opening gifts the kids FINALLY got to go out and play in the snow.

christmas 126christmas 127

Emersyn had to borrow some pants from Creete...There is nothing cuter than a sweet little girlie girl running around in a GIANT can can skirt, borrowed sweat pants, and gold sparkly boot making snow balls.  Even a cute little boy walking in the snow with a walker.  Although he comes in a close second.

christmas 132christmas 134

I think the BIG boys had the MOST fun of all.  I think they were enjoying throwing snow balls at the kids a little TOO much.

Pheww!!!  As if all of that was not enough Christmas cheer, we still had ONE MORE party to go to .  We packed up our castle and headed to Grandma Marilee’s for Christmas dinner.  Ethan lasted about 2 minutes in the car before he pooped out.  Since his pants got wet in the snow, he had to wear COAT pants.  Yep...he wore his COAT as pants.  It was by far the funniest thing because he complained the WHOLE time.  He kept trying to get his “coat” off until he finally gave up and fell asleep.

christmas 138christmas 139

The kids got MORE presents and fun.  Ethan had a pants-less Christmas...maybe I should try that next year.  He stomped around with his STOMPIES and entertained us.

christmas 142christmas 144

Em got a LIGHT UP Cinderella dress that she modeled for us...and her own set of PURPLE Stompies...perfect for the girl who LOVES purple!!!  Ethan got some more cleaning supplies...he might grow up to be a janitor...and did some pantsless cleaning.  AND for about 2 seconds the kids got along and played quietly together....SEE I HAVE PROOOF.

christmas 151christmas 145

SOOO I guess EVERYONE got exactly what they asked for for Christmas...The kids got more toys than we can fit in our house, candy galore, and cool new clothes and mommy got 2 minutes of peace and quiet....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
