ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!

christmas 001

SOOO Christmas HAS officially come and gone, BUT in magical blog land where events never happen in real time and every day is covered in chocolate, we are still WAY back in December.  I would complain, but HEY....there were A LOT of good treats in December, so I am just going with it.  This year December and the countdown to Christmas were SUPER fun this year.  I LOVE that Emersyn is still the age where Christmas is magical.  We had fun times with Cookie the Elf, and were NOT HAPPY to see her (only Emersyn believes it is a girl for some reason) go.  A certain parent who had to wander around in the middle of the night...not really missing him/her so much!!

Emersyn was off for two weeks for Christmas break.  I LOVED IT!!!  I am going to miss that girl next year when she heads to Kindergarten.  We spent MANY days in our jammies watching Christmas movies and drinking LOTS of hot chocolate!!

YES I caved and bought my kids rainbow marshmallow hot chocolate.  I figure if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars on toys and candy and let them stay up late and eat cookies for lunch and candy for breakfast...what could some rainbow marshmallows hurt??

Ethan is growing up and becoming QUITE to big boy.  Yep that is him masterfully drinking hot chocolate with a spoon.  Possibly NOT the most efficient method, but most certainly the CUTEST method.  Although technically I believe he was only eating marshmallow...rainbow ones:)

Emersyn’s cute little pre-school class had their Christmas party.  When we came to pick them up they put on a show and sang us carols....SOOOO CUTE.

Emersyn LOVES her pre-school friends.  She talks about them non-stop and tells me the funniest stories.  Lately she has even been wishing on the brightest star each night that Leila, Elyse, and Courtney can be her SISTERS and not just her friends.

While Emersyn was off at school having fun and learning as much as she can fit in her head, Ethan was forced to go Christmas shopping with his momma.  Poor kid:)

Todd and I did something over Christmas Break that we NEVER do.  We spent a Saturday morning TOGETHER and WITHOUT kids.  OHHHHH and exercising!!

We headed out into the cold to run the Cable Bridge 5K.  Even with the extra cookie weight and the lack of ANY preparation, we made it in one piece.

We stuck together, kept a good pace and finished in 30-31 minutes.  Not a record breaking time, but a finish is a finish right???

Well...I guess that is as much living back in time I can do in one night...now back to reality...the reality where Ethan wakes up and stands by my bed crying until I either let him into sleep next to me OR hunkers down on my floor to rest in between hysterical screaming fits.  YEP...Christmas Break is DEFINITELY over....
