After an exhausting few minutes of crying, Emersyn usually crashed out at the ocean. I don't know if it is the bright sunshine, the blowing sand, or the outdoors, but she was not a big fan. The beach to her was just a good place for a power nap. I had some good times watching all the other kiddos running around and eating sand. They were cute. I was a little worried about the amount of sand that Gracee was eating, but apperently you just poop sand right out. Who knew???
Here we are enjoying a nice beach blanket nap together. Mother daughter bonding time.
We did attempt to touch the sand for a few seconds. She wasn't too sure.
Here are her little tosies in the sand. I think she takes after Grandma Judy who doesn't like to get her feet dirty. She just curled up her toes and froze--I think she was secretly hoping it would go away if she ignored it. It didn't go away so she tried crying hysterically again. I am sure the other people at the ocean were so glad we decided to bring our touchy baby to the ocean. I gave them all the screw you look. For those of you who have not experienced this look--it really does the job--no more sideways glances from the other people at the ocean:) I win!!!--Well not really cause my girlie was still pissed, but you know.
Then it was back to sleep. I know these pictures are a little boring, but it truly sums up our first trip to the beach. Besides beach bumming, we did have some great laughs. After the kiddos were asleep at night was had some fun girl time putting together puzzles. Fran, Amy, and I put together some really hard puzzles. I know it sounds kinda boring, but let me explain putting puzzles together "Jessica Style." Ok--first you find all of the outside pieces. Then you set a goal. For example "Once we get the ouside together, we each get a brownie bite." Then you each pick one section of the puzzle to work on. Then comes another goal. For example--"after I find this last yellow piece, we each get another smores." ETC. ETC. It is like extreme puzzling for chubbos. It is also why I am not losing the last 10 pounds of baby weight. Actually 15 to 20 pounds, but who is counting?? Right:) Anybody want to come over and put a puzzle together with me???
