Crazy busy weekend

We have gotten ourselves party-ed out this weekend. Friday we cleaned and cleaned our house because we had my cousin Maren and her family over for dinner. Emersyn got to meet baby Chloe and she fell in love. She didn't want to eat, play, or anything...just touch Chloe--her eyes, her hair--she loved it. Before dinner Todd and I took Em over to Brother and Sister Isaacson's (the couple missionaries) to go swimming. They have adopted her as their grandkid while they are here and wanted her to use their pool--since they cannot use it.
Then on Saturday we went to the Columbia Basin Ward Reunion Party. It was a reunion for the 50th anniversary of the ward. They had games for the kids and cotton candy, snow cones, kettle corn, dinner, entertainment, on and on and on. I did not take any pictures because it was pretty overwhelming. Kids everywhere---no parents---chaos. Em had fun running around like a crazy person and chasing her cousin Creete. FYI---Creete went missing for about an hour and they finally found him in the parking lot sitting on Phil Bleazard's motor cycle. That kid was VERY close to getting his birthday party cancelled!!!
Speaking of Birthday parties, Creete DID have his yesterday. It was a day filled with crazy five year olds and water toys. After the older kids left, Em and Kennedy and Kotori had their own party. Em jumped on the trampoline...

bounced in the bounce house (and took some time out to give daddy some love)...

Went down the giant water slide...

got a little freaked out, but loved it....

ran around like a crazy person some more....

and had a GREAT time. She was a little confused that we were allowing her to have her own bag of candy.
Do I REALLY get to pick out and eat candy???? Is my mommy looking???

We are going over to the Woodward's tonight for dinner, so our weekend of playing is still going on and we are pooped. I believe I see a nap in the plan for today--for me AND Emersyn:)
Before our crazy weekend I actually got a little bit of crafting done. I made some squares for my birdie quilt. I got all of my birdies made and attached--they are all different colors and patterns, but you get the idea. I am showing pictures now because I am not sure I will EVER finish this one. My next step is to sew around all of the birds and circles--not looking fun to me.

I also finished this tablerunner. I actually liked it when I got done and have not started looking for mistakes yet--so it even gets to be on my table.
I quilted it myself, so I was pretty proud of myself. I usually give up when I get to the quilting part--YAY me.

That about sums up our week last week. I hope this week is a little calmer because I need to get us all packed for the Oregon Coast. I am counting the hours until we leave....I need some vacation!!!!!

Looks like a fun fun weekend! I'm glad you got to spend time with Maren! :) Emersyn is turning into quite the bathing beauty - she gets to swim so much! Enjoy your time at the ocean. And if you're still looking for something to do, come to Priest Lake! I'll be there until the 16th of August!
