Em and Laney are still going to swimming lessons. Em has learned to say Laney....it sounds like NaNee, but hey it is still REALLY cute. I guess that means Laney is her first friend. She also learned to say Creete (sounds like Keeee), but they are not really friends---more like they tolerate each others existence--sort of.
Em has fallen head over heals in love with the hose. I was bothered this year by not being able to have a garden (community rules) so I planted some veggies in my flower pots. So far Em has picked off all of my baby vegetables the day they appear, but it has been fun. She LOVES watering them, but the poor things are so water logged that even the 100 degree days cannot dry them out. Maybe we will ACTUALLY grow something next year. Hey at least I tried Right????
We had the 4th at our house. We invited both Todd and My family, plus the Waters and the Wieselers (and my brother in laws parents). It was fun for all of the kids to be together and it was nice to have so many grandmas and aunties to watch Emersyn. She ran around like a crazy person and had a great time. Creete came over armed with water guns and nerf guns (I am glad I don't have a boy). He managed to soak everyone periodically throughout the day and him AND his guns spent some time in TIMEOUT:( I realize my kid is losing her shirt in this picture, but Grandpa Johnny thought it was ok to put her in the pool in her clothes within about 10 minutes of the party starting, so she was a wet rat for a while--Thanks Grandpa.
Of course after changing into a swimsuit, the pool didn't seem like so much fun. She had moved onto the bounce house. You can see Creete and Laney in the background figuring out how to escape out the door.
Em and her dad later had some late night father daughter bouncing time. She is so lucky to have a dad who still likes to play.
We had talked about getting a picture of the 3 girls in their cute 4th of July outfits, but they got tired and dirty beyond belief before it happened. This is the closest thing we got (don't worry Franny and Amy--I made sure everthing was covered). Actually Ryan and Todd (mostly Todd I think) gave all 3 girls their baths. Fran, Amy and I stayed in the livingroom and had some much needed quiet time.
My sweetie pie did not make it to the fireworks, so our night ended soon after bathtime. I tried to keep her up, but she brought me her bottle and told me "nigh nigh." What can ya do???? When MY kid asks to go to bed, she must be tired!!!! Now I am pretty much just trying to keep myself together until we go to the Oregon Coast at the end of the month. I am ready for some shopping, eating out, maid service, and fun.
