More of Seaside 09

Here is round two of our trip to Seaside. We had soooo much fun that it has taken me a while to get the pictures downloaded and the desire to blog about it. Plus we didn't do anything extraordinary (except have a great vacation), so there is not lots to share. BUT here is what we did.
Emersyn and Laney put their differences behind them and decided to become "friends." Emersyn woke up every morning and from every nap asking for Naynee. She would run out every morning to make sure Naynee was still out there waiting for her. They shared toys, and food, and movies and actually played TOGETHER. It was actually pretty cute.

Here they are working together to get some ice-cream. Two hands are better than one right??

Of course even better than ice-cream (for the little girls) was the ocean. It was cold, but they would have gone swimming all day if we had let them. They would see the water and just take off at a full out run towards it. Em's first touch of the water was a bit surprised, but after that...she was hooked. She laughed and just wanted MORE MORE MORE. She didn't care how big the waves were or how wet she (or her mommy) got.

And when mommy got tired of getting wet, she would find some other unsuspecting hand to hold. PLEASE TAKE ME TO THE WATER AMY!!!

Could this kid look any happier?????

Come on dad--let me show you this cool stuff--the ocean....it is the best---follow me:)

The boys eventually had to take their turn in the water (although they were not happy about it). The water was soooo cold it would make your feet hurt, but the girls did not seem to care one bit. Amy and I however needed a time out. I think if we had let them, they would have doggy paddled out and given us a little wave goodbye.

I have gone to the ocean almost every year of my life growing up, but I have never been to a town like Seaside. It was a very "family" town. We could walk to all of the shops and the beach and there was tons for the kids to do. Em and Laney liked digging in the sand and eating sandy disgusting snacks.

For some reason Em thought that she needed to make a sand angel.

End every time she would get close to the sand she would put her head in it....I am not sure why. I guess she wanted some sand in her hair. She would just run down and "ostrich" her head in the sand---huh??

They had lots of swing sets and volleyball nets right down on the beach. Daddy got to do the swinging honors because I got motion sickness swinging for just a few minutes--yuck!!

The 'big' boys decided to buy kites and try out their skills. Of course they could not get 1 easy to fly kite--they got 2 difficult kites with lots of tassles and wings. Todd got a fancy dragon. This is him still excited about the kite--it was pretty---but not big on the flying.

This was the most air time it actually got. There was just NO wind. Who can imagine the ocean without the wind, but the weather was just TOO nice--I guess the kite will have to make the trip back to the ocean next year.

Ryan got the Red Baron--another very cool but VERY difficult kite. He had a little better luck...

his kite did fly for about....this long:) IMPRESSIVE right?? Poor boys--they just wanted to show off, but the only kite we saw flying was a little kid with a very simple Winnie the Pooh kite--I guess we over-did it in the kite department.
SOOOO. That was some more fun, but not all of it. Who knew we had so much fun???? That must be why I didn't unpack for 3 days and why I am still freakin tired:)
