Emersyn went to the doctor at 18 months and weighed 23.8 pounds (39th percentile) and 34 inches long (97th percentile). With Todd and I as parents it is hard to imagine a tall kid, but maybe she will buck the odds and be a basketball star:)
She finally has enough hair to rock the piggy look. I looked forward to doing her hair for 19 months and now when it is time to leave the house I am like "crap, I have to do Em's hair." It was nice to do the wash and wear look:) BUT the piggys are dang cute too.

What else does Emersyn love??? Here are a few of her favorites. She still loves Elmo of course, but she also just loves watching movies. Her new favorite is Tinkerbell and the fairies--she calls them babies. Todd and I got a new TV and while we were waiting for it (without the old one) she cried and cried for Elmo, so I caved and brought the dvd player from the car in. Could she get any closer to Elmo??
She LOVES to dress and undress herself. If she is wearing pants and a shirt--no onsie--she sneaks away and takes her clothes off--including her diaper. She loves to be naked. She also likes to pee on the floor--so we try to keep clothes ON!! Here she is in Todd's Michael Jackson hat.
A not so funny story about her and her undressing habit....I was talking to Marcie on the phone and trying to get everything settled for State football. Next thing I know Emersyn walks into the room BUCK naked. Before I can even think, she squats and pees. I yell to Marcie--Oh my gosh she just peed on my floor. Before those words were out of my mouth she squatted and pooped. I know--GROSS. I hurried and hung up and grabbed her and she kept saying "stinky poop Stinky poop." Like I needed any reminding that I had stinky poop in my house!!! The only thing that saved us was the fact that she somehow managed to poop on a coloring book--and NOT MY FLOOR!! Thank Goodness. Needless to say that coloring book no longer lives at our house:)
She also likes jewelry, hair accesories, and head bands. She comes out with necklaces, braclets, and headbands on and tells you how "petty" (pretty) she is.
She LOVES socks!! Her socks, my socks, Todd's socks--doesn't matter. She will put them on, take them off, and repeat with a new pair. I find socks ALL over the house. We now have a pile of matchless socks on the dryer because with a sock lover walking around dropping socks, they tend to disappear. She also loves shoes. In the car, she takes off her shoes and socks and then attempts to put them back on. Even if we go down the street to Wal Mart, we have to put her socks and shoes back on--hassle I know!! Here she combines stripping and socks:) You can also see the destruction behind her--she destroys wherever she goes.
Even better than shoes---BOOTS!! She loves boots. She has Elmo slippers and she calls them her Elmo boots--she would wear them every day if I let her. One day in Target we were looking at shoes and she put on an adult pair of knee high black boot. She whipped her shoes and socks off, sat down in the aisle, and put on her boots. She was SOO proud of herself. When I tried to get her OUT of the boots--Game Over. She kicked and screamed and layed down and YELLED "My boots My boots." People came to look and saw me struggling to remove a pair of hooker boots from my one year old who for about 5 minutes screamed "My boots My boots!!" She tried pretty hard to hold onto the boots and keep me from pulling them off, but I won--sort of. She screamed for her boots all the way through the store--until her sneaky mommy hit the toy aisle as a diversion!! What a kid.Her shoes are harder to get on, so she finds bigger shoes to wear--these belong to one of the cheerleaders.
Emersyn LOVES to clean. She loves to take a wash rag or baby wipe and wipe down the floor, walls, cupboards, whatever. She thinks it is a very special day when she can use the scrubber brush to clean.
While she was cleaning, I was cooking dinner and talking to Franny on the phone. Next thing I know I turn around and see this...
She thought she could get a better angle if she was IN the sink I guess. Crazy climbing monkey kid!! It is a good thing she likes to clean because she also likes to "help" in the kitchen. When I cook she drags a kitchen chair over, climbs up, and says "help help." She loves to help. She stirs, dumps, and mixes and thinks she is VERY big girl!! She also loves to "help" unload the dishwasher. Her favorite is the silverware of course. She opens the drawer and dumps it all in the top. So instead of having the silverware in seperate sections, we have a pile of spoons, forks, knives, whatever she can fit. Here she combines TWO of her favorites--coloring and cleaning. First she colored on the floor, (then she got yelled at), THEN she scrubbed it up--kinda. SHE LOVES TO COLOR!!! She will color for hours. Color books, notebooks, and now a magna doodle--she LOVES it. The problem---she loves coloring other places too--my dresser, my bed, my couch, and of course my floor. You name it, we have colored and un-colored it.
Moving on...
She also has really loved going to Cheer practice (most of the time). She got so much attention from the girls. It is hard to tell, but in this picture they put a football in her dress and she was running around looking a little pregnant:) They also took her for drinks out of the drinking fountain, put her in stunts, gave her m&ms and let her climb and jump all over them.
Her favorite time at cheer practice was the last week because the band teacher had all of the instruments in the auditorium. So she got to play the piano, ring the bells, ding the triangle, and beat the drums. SHHHH don't tell the band teacher:)
Top on the list of things Emersyn loves---destruction. She can destroy a room faster than I can even THINK of cleaning it up. She colors the walls, the couch, herself. She puts on makeup (mascara on the forehead, eye shadow on her feet, and concealer on her nose). She unloads drawers, cupboards, the pantry. She rips, tears, pulls, paints, you name it--she wrecks it. Some of her favorite messes--getting out the paper doll and all of her clothes.
Another favorite mess...unloading my wallet. She did this at practice once and I got a call from the office the next day informing me they found my credit card and some cash in the auditorium--oops. Lots of times she brings me my license and shows me--ME!! Yep I am on my license--pretty cool:)
Fabric--first she unloads it--then she separates it by color. OR she spreads each little piece out until the whole floor is covered. OR she stacks it up and makes a fabric tower. In this case, she unloaded it and got bored and left it there---We are still working on putting things back!!
Books!! She loves to read books. If it gets too quiet, I often find her in reading her books. She also LOVES to be read to. When we finish a book she says "MO books" (more books). She would read all night if I didn't stop and make her go to bed.
She LOVES lotion--she calls it "hands." BUT she doesn't want it just on her hands. I cannot even remember how many times she comes and finds me looking like this....

She has lotion on her head, hand, feet, and of course she pulled up her pants and put it on her legs--cause she is also a copy cat. She thought she looked so pretty with all of her "hands" on. It took me about 5 washes in the bath to get the lotion somewhat out of her hair. She was VERY proud of herself!!!

I also get many pieces of furniture covered in lotion. Doesn't that look so pretty????

Babies. Em LOVES babies. Her dolly babies or real babies. I think she thinks they are the same. Bode, Bobbie's little guy got to meet Emersyn and was in for a shock. She wanted to put his hat on, poke his eyes, touch his nose and of course give him kisses. She also thought he needed to eat a candy bar with her and that he would love some "go gos" (gold fishes).

Cute story--Bode was wearing a onsie with little mittens covering his hands. Emersyn saw them and got a horrified look on her face and said "uh oh--broke." She thought his hands were broke:) We unwrapped his hands and she felt MUCH better!!! She would REALLY like a little brother or sister to take care of, maybe I should buck up and work on that. Or maybe we should just visit Bobbie more often:)

Some other loves of Em...juice, gogurt (this is a new found treat), cheese, color colors (crayons), Amma and Papa, cereal and oatmeal (she likes to pick up the bowl and drink the milk--just like daddy), her little people farm and nativity (manimals), GUM (she would chew a whole pack if you let her), the sacrament (she wants "mo" bread and loves the little cups), nursery, hugs, kisses and the list goes on and on.
Some of her new words/phrases... Stinky poop. no no kitty kitty. stinky kitty poop (of course while holding her nose). MO (more--more books, more food, more elmo, more everything!!). bed. rock. (both of which she ask for in middle of the night--meaning she wants in MY bed or to rock). blanket. oodle poop (aka noodle soup). cula cula (color colors). shirt and pants. coat. goat (not sure where she learned this from, but she knows what a goat is). puppy. booook. milk. cookie.
OK--so guess I can narrow it down and say she is a parrot. She wants to know ALL of the words. She points to everything and wants to know what it is. She really gets frustrated when she doesn't know the right word. She knows all of her body parts including elbow, knee, neck and back. She can say them and point them out--if she feels like it:)
SOOOO long story short (not really too short though), I have a smart, stubborn, fun, destructive, curious, helpful, beautiful, wonderful little girl. She changes and grows more every day. We have had a fun, hard, quick 19 months and cannot wait to see more of the little girl she becomes. BTW according to her she is "no baby!! BIG!!!" I guess my baby is growing up!!!
