She was SOOOO glad to see that her summer toys were all still outside waiting for her. Even her bucket of rocks (her favorite) was there waiting to be dumped and picked back up:)
She ran around, kicked her ball, rode the pony, and crashed her car. She was Thrilled. I on the other hand sat on the picnic table and sewed the binding on a quilt--I decided I could finish Christmas AND make Emersyn happy:)
Todd, Marilee, Kevin and I went to the Living Nativity. I had not been since I was a little kid and I loved it. It was so nice to get a little reminder of Jesus' birth and the true reason of Christmas. I had been so focused on the presents and food and parties. It was amazing to just sit back and feel the spirit of Christmas. I had tears in my eyes from the moment Mary and Joseph rode their donkey past until the very end. The mood left quickly after leaving the church, but for a few minutes it was a beautiful time.
Then I went home and got back to sewing. Amazingly I finished ALL of my sewing projects. Here are the FINAL finished projects. First, my brother's tree quilt. It was too big for me to get a good picture, so I broke it up into two parts...
the bottom half...
and the top half. I was SOOO in love with this one that I just had to wrap it up and forget about it----otherwise It would have had to stay at my house forever.
I had someone quilt it for me and she did an amazing job. I loved the swirls and twirls all around the squares. It really made the quilt look even better. She also made little branches on the trees--SOO cute.
The backing was in fishes because my brother likes to fish more than he likes to eat. So this was a man quilt covered with bears, and moose, and fishes.
Goodbye Tree quilt--I hope you enjoy your new home!!!
Moving right along....I also made Creete a raggy Batman quilt. He LOVES action figures and he told me Batman was his favorite. SOOOO I got onto Ebay and bought Batman fabric--although I did not think it was really very cute. Then I fussy cut the Batman figures out of the blue and THIS is the finished project.

My sister's quilt was an afterthought--but I ended up liking it. I made her a disappearing 9 patch quilt using Marcie's pattern and all of the leftover fabric I had left from her tablerunner. So now she has a matching set:)

I am not sure why the sashing turned out green....When I bought it, it looked cream. When I cut it, it looked cream. When I was sewing it, it looked cream. And then when I was tying it---it was clearly greenish--ooops. It all kinda went together in the end I guess because my sister has a green couch. I finished binding it on Chrismas Eve at Todd's mom's house--nothing like the last minute!!!

FINISHED!!! It feels good to be done, such a relief. I really do not think I will be going into my sewing room for a while--except to do some much needed cleaning. I think Em will be more than happy to have her mommy back:) I hope everyone had a great Christmas (I will get back to that soon).
