The end of an ERA!!

SOOOOO after 7 sports seasons of coaching cheerleading, my career as CHS cheer coach is officially over. Sad I know!!! Here are a few highlights from the last few weeks of cheerleading.

I love my Marcie. Thanks for so many memories chica!!! I cannot even put US into words, so I am not gonna try. Moving on...

The last week of practice the girls wanted to change places. Bases started flying and flyers became bases. Here are a few of their completely unsafe and unstable stunts. What you don't see in the pictures is that Marcie is binding a quilt and I am reading a magazine:) Are you starting to see what I love about cheer--ha ha!!

My kid is "cheer gifted" I am not gonna lie. SO advanced:)

We also cheered at Lampson, and at an amazing field in Moses Lake. The girls just kept getting better and better and by the end I was very proud of our stunts. My only regret--NO LIBS!!

At Moses Lake (against Chelan) the girls got to cheer on boxes for the first time EVER!! I thought we were going to have to surgically remove them from the boxes--they were in love. When they were told they got boxes, they screamed louder than they did when we won the game---No joke!!! Speaking of winning---it was off to STATE!!!!
Katelyn, Selena, Kayla, April and Carlie. I liked these girls before state, but after spending the weekend with them--I LOVED THEM. They cracked me up. Todd went with us and Marcie, Todd and I laughed the entire way there. I love dumb, random comments!!!
Can you believe they let this guy be in charge of the high school? Just kidding--He may be cheesy, but Principal Tim cracks me up!!
We talked some poor freshman boy into being the Eagle and he did great!! Everything about State went great!!!
I cannot take credit for this picture, I borrowed it from Heather Benson, but I LOVE IT!!! That was for sure the highest basket toss of the season. I think the adrenaline kicked in and they rocked. SO PROUD!!
And of course the highlight of my coaching career, we finally won state. Wayne said it best when he said he was tired of being a bridesmaid and never a bride. I have made a few trips to Tacoma and I was very glad to come back happy this time.
GOOOO EAGLES!!! I have love love LOVED these years of coaching and have had some amazing times. I love my girls (past and present) and am a little sad to let it go. I have been a teacher, a teacher and coach, a mommy and coach, and now I am just a mommy. How does that work???? Maybe my house will be cleaner, my meals better, my child happier and my life less chaotic:) So an era of my life has ended....what will the new year bring???
