SOOO if San Diego was fantastic...than the next day was...THE OPPOSITE of fantastic. You know when you have your mind set on something and then it ends up being REALLY crappy??? Well that was Ensenada Mexico. We were expecting warm sunny beautiful Mexico. With beaches and sand and playing in the beach. WELLLL....Ensenada is not THAT kind of Mexico. It is the barbed wire, floating garbage, ghetto kind of Mexico....SURPRISE!!!
We got off the ship still expecting FUN in the SUN!! As we left the ship we saw NOT fun or sun. We saw sad and slightly scary sea lions...The beautiful city...
We were accosted by vendors on the street trying to sell us tours of their crap hole city and knock of watches. We were still hopeful for a beach, but apparently Ensenada is made of rock and filth. Then miraculously Emersyn spotted a playground in the distance. We trudged through dirt and litter only to find a TERRIFYING rusty, metal, broken, dirty, and in some places SHARP playground. Todd took one look and started pushing the stroller STRAIGHT back to the ship. After buying a 20 dollar jumbo pack of PINK Daisy Duck diapers for my little guy. And YES Emersyn made fun of her brother EVERY time he wore a pink diaper!!
Do I not have the cutest blurry little kids EVER!!! They enjoyed a day of swimming (not on the dirty beach) and playing on the ship....NICE AND CLEAN and SAFE!!!
The housekeeper always put our stuffed animals in the window when she was done cleaning so that when we would return to the room they would be taking in the sights....SOOOO CUTE!!! PLUS....a housekeeper....Oh how I miss her!!!
We spent our last night on the ship trying to get one last visit with all of our favorite people.
We hit up the gift shop and bought some treasures. Emersyn got some AWESOME Minnie Mouse gloves. FUNNY STORY about those cute little gloves. A few days after we got home, the gloves were sitting on the counter...minding their own business when Ethan came along. I was washing dishes and the next thing I know I turned around and Ethan was DUNKING the cute little white gloves into purple grape juice. I grabbed them and must have let out a holler because Emersyn turned around and saw her NOW purple-ish gloves and said...."UHHHH...why is my brother sooo aggravating???" WELLL now she has pinkish Minnie gloves and a slight negative attitude towards her little brother:)
Anyway....back to the trip. We managed to check out ONE MORE family dance party before heading to bed. Once we were back in the room, Emersyn asked what we were doing the next day. We told her we were going home and she hid her head under the pillow and cried for 30 minutes. Poor girl thought that we would stay on the ship FOREVER!!!
After the kiddos (and Todd) sacked out I ran downstairs really quick to try to get a quick glance at Jack Sparrow (pathetic I know). BUT I had missed him earlier because Ethan would NOT get close to the scary slightly twitchy pirate man. ANYWAY...I headed down to see the sights and only got to see a few NON hot pirate people...bummer. But I got a few minutes alone on the ship...so that was a plus. AND I was in my jamas and slippers...DOUBLE plus!!!
The next day was NOT GOOD. We had to get up and explain to two little kiddos that we had to leave paradise...NO BUENO!!
We got to hang out and wait in line and blah blah blah...all the way home.
We got to kill time by playing duck duck goose AND people watching.
We got to run around the airports and eat junk food....and wait and wait and wait some more!!
AND Emersyn's favorite part...moving sidewalks. She would jump on and then say...LOOK at me I am walking on a moving sidewalk....Look at me I am walking on a moving sidewalk...OVER AND OVER AND OVER. It was TOO cute!!!
It was fun, but we were all SUPER glad to be back home. No more real life princesses. No more bacon and sausage for breakfast. No more all day ice-cream. No more all you can eat buffets. No more kids club. No more dance parties. No more doughnuts. No more swimming. No more ALL DAY FUN!!! I have NO IDEA what we will possibly EVER do to live up to this vacation for Emersyn...I guess I better start saving up now:)
