Valentine's Week...AKA birthday week

Some weeks are just MORE crammed in the activities department than others.  WELL last week was more like JAM PACKED from start to finish.  We had pre-valentine's day, Valentine's day, pre-birthday, birthday...and a whole lot more!!!
To start off....Emersyn and her sweet little pre-school class got to go on a field trip to the library.  She was so excited, you would have thought the field trip was to Disneyland.  She loves the library and was THRILLED to share the library with her friends.  PLUS, since the librarian knew her already she got to be the line-leader.  Which to a 4 year old is like being elected president of the cool kids club!!!  Speaking of cool kids...Ethan got to go too.  He thought he was AWESOME!!!  He sat with the big kids and pretty much smiled non-stop.
Speaking ff non-stop...Ethan!!!  Since the weather has been nice, the kids have been playing outside.  The only problem is...well Ethan translates playing as DESTROYING.  In the two minutes that I was not looking, he managed to take apart our landscaping and color the bricks with sidewalk chalk.  I think they call that tagging....I call it amazing because Emersyn (who tried to help him clean up the mess) could not even BEGIN to lift the bricks and I didn't have a SUPER easy time putting them back myself.  This kid is like the incredible hulk I swear!!!
He is also a super snappy dresser!!!  AND a pretty good smoothie maker.  He came and found me in the shower the other day to inform me he wanted a smoothie....I guess he REALLY wanted one.  He had managed to get the blender assembled and the fruit in...Thank goodness he was asking permission to plug it in and turn it on!!
Ethan needed to get a big boy haircut for his big day.  He wasnt thrilled with the experience, but was willing to put up with it in order to get a balloon and a sucker.  Ethan will do pretty much anything for a sucker!!1
Along with hair growth, apparently Ethan had a foot growth spurt as well:)  AND look how proud he is that he managed to get shoes AND socks on all by himself!!!
On Valentine's day we had a big day...we headed to the library...
Then headed to Fred Meyer to ride on the toys...
Then we broke Emersyn's nose.  Wait...WHAT???? We had a bit of an accident at the library when I attempted to close the back of the car and Emersyn attempted to jump into the back of the car at the same time.  BIG OOPS!!!  Long story short...she took her ice pack with her to the store and would NOT look at anybody.  Nothing like damaging your precious daughter's face to get you to feel REALLY GUILTY!!!
She found some big shades to cover up the evidence:)  Two almost black eyes, a huge bump on her nose, and a headache, but still a sweet smile for the camara!!!
Ethan's nose was perfectly fine...but he needed some cool kid shades too!!!
And what would Valentine's Day be without a marshmallow flower and 25 pounds of chocolate???  WELL...you have to do something after you break a kids nose right??
I guess maybe I evened the score a bit when I gave her HEART hair for her school party.   She has only been asking since LAST year when she saw that someone else's cooler more talented mom had given them heart hear for Valentine's day.
Even with a bumpy nose and slightly blackened eyes, she was still the cutest little Valentine!!!
AND this kid thought that Valentine's Day...aka CANDY day was the greatest day invented.  He had candy for breakfast and was THIS happy by 8:00 am!!!
Just in time for his birthday party....but that is a whole OTHER story for another day!!
