Fruit flies, footie pajamas, friends, fatigue, and fun!!!

We had a pretty busy, but fun week this week. We started off on Sunday with Gracee's birthday party. This face sums it all up:)

There were soooo many kids there that Emersyn really had to hang out with mom--BORING. She wanted to get into the action. She is so upset at times that she cannot get down and run around.
She did manage to get her hold on some of the new toys. She liked Gracee's dolly. Sorry Amy--I have a girlie girl:)
Her favorite toy at the party was of course---the tissue paper. She seriously could spend hours with paper, tissue, mail--anything CRINKELY.
She did find an adopt-a-grandma. Trina took pity on her and helped her join the party.

Emersyn also found a new friend in the bath tub that night. Although the ducky has bathed with her every time, she just noticed that he was there. Now they've bonded.

I just had to include this picture of Emersyn in her bath towel. Mrs. Peterson (Tricia) made these towels for her. I just have to make a shout out to Miss P. Thanks so much. These are by far the greatest towels--all big and cozy and warm. Thanks again.

I may have mentioned that I love piggies--so of course when I found these piggy pjs, I had to buy them. I almost waited too long to get them out. I thought she was still a baby, but apparently she is a big girl:(
Monday was a girls day. I had to drive Todd to work because he sold the car that he had driven home. Emersyn and I spent the rest of the day hanging out with Amy and Delaney. I just have to say that I am so glad that I have good friends. There are times when I think I am the worst mom/wife. I feel like I am accomplishing nothing in my days and just BLAHHHH. Then I hang out with my friends and get cheered up and get some of my self esteem back. Hanging out with Amy for a few hours was exactly what I needed. We talked about our kids, our husbands, our cleaning habits, etc. It is nice to know that there is someone out there who understands. Thanks Amy for helping me re-group. I was a much better wife/mother for the rest of the week.
Delaney likes dolls too--despite Amy's best efforts--and she got to play with the cutest baby doll ever. I REALLY wanted to include the picture of Dr. Wieseler pushing Emersyn in the dolly carriage, but it was made very clear to me that I did NOT have blog clearance for that picture--sorry.

As if that was not enough, we then got a visit from Uncle Justin, Grandma Marilee, Kevin, AND Grandma Judy. Emersyn was loving the spotlight. Here she showed off her new trick. She can grab things on her own. She finds it VERY impressive:)
Have I mentioned that Emersyn loves her Uncle Muscles??? Justin started school this week at CBC. I am so proud of him. He has had his ups and downs, but I hope this is the fresh starts he needs. GOOD LUCK BROTHER!!! I love that guy...anyway...
I love this picture for two reasons. 1. because my baby is stinkin' cute. AND 2. because I think she looks SOOOO much like her daddy. For the last 3 days I have decided that she is looking more and more like him.
OK---On to less cute and happy topics. WE ARE BEING INVADED BY FRUIT FLIES!!! Gross I know. Our house is like a freakin'----I don't even know what to compare it to. Just a house O' bugs. You might be thinking---oh fruit flies are little. That is no big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL. They are gross and EVERYWHERE!!!! They just fly around and stare at me with their beady little red eyes. My poor husband has turned into a bug nazi. He has read about them on the internet and started making fruit fly traps. Basically it is a bowl filled with fruit and covered with plastic wrap. Just to give you an idea about how many fruit flies are in our home, this bowl is one of FOUR traps in our house. He has also dumped and re-made them 3 times. AND we still have flies.

Ok--moving past the creepy crawly bugs, yesterday we went over to Jenny and Ryan's for dinner. Ryan is having surgery today and he wanted a big "last supper" before he goes in. Creete was great this time and loved and kissed on Emersyn. He was a little reluctant to share his toys--even though they have been packed away for years--but he finally played with her. I think he is relieved that she actually does stuff now---for a while he thought she was pretty boring. He was not, however, ready to share his rootbeer with her. He quickly informed her that it was his and that it was only for big boys:) Kids are so funny.

Emersyn hasn't been sleeping the last few nights. She wakes up constantly and is crying in a sort of half sleep. Last night I even tried to lay down with her on the couch, but she just screamed. I hate that I start to get mad that she wont sleep. I know that it isn't her fault, but man is it hard to stay up with her all night. I don't know if it is teething or what, but I hope it ends soon. She used to be such a good sleeper...now not so much.
Well tomorrow it is back to the football field for us. This was a LONG post--sorry. Have a great weekend!!
