The little purple shoe

SO--this may look like just another baby shoe, but it isn't. It has quite a story to tell actually. It all started Friday night, however the real story doesn't begin until Sunday morning. This little shoe actually caused a Sunday morning fight between my husband and I. Here is what happened. Sunday morning as I was clearing out my bag to re-pack it for church, I noticed that only one little purple shoe could be found. I looked and looked, but not shoe number 2. So I attempted to get answers from my husband--big mistake. His response--"maybe it is in the car"(little did he know that I had already searched the car top to bottom). His response number 2 "Maybe it got dropped at the football game" (at this point the rage started coming). You may be wondering why I would get so upset over such a little thing as a purple shoe. I am not sure myself(it may have been the result of WAYYYY to many sleepless nights with Emersyn), but I think it was because of the casual way that my husband was blowing it off. He had just accepted that is was gone and moved on with his day. ME--not so much!!!! It was also so upsetting because I still had ONE purple shoe. If they had both gone missing, I would have probably counted it as a loss and moved on, but I still had one little shoe taunting me. PLUS--I knew that I had taken off BOTH shoes to put on Emersyn's snow suit. THEN I had handed BOTH shoes to my husband to put into the diaper bag. OHHHH the dilemma!!! Why had I managed to keep track of 2 shoes for 5 months, but he was unable to manage for 5 minutes??? (I must note here that I do love my husband and find him very reponsible at times, but at this point I wanted to hit him in the head with a hammer) So what did I do about it you may be asking yourself?? WELL I did the only insane thing that I could do. I went to church and thought about the little purple shoe and how it was probably just sitting in the grass waiting to get mowed up. Then I came home from church--changed into my sweat pants of course--and drove to Finley in search of the little purple shoe. Once I got there I drove around the football field trying to find a way in--there is a fence of course. I found a small entrance, walked across the football field (in a CHS shirt no less--bad choice), dug under the bleachers, and FOUND THE MISSING PURPLE SHOE. Now I know that Connie Pitcher is getting a laugh out of this story, but I hope it puts a smile on the rest of your faces too. Please laugh at my obsessive compulsive behavior--I know I have. Happy Monday all of you sane people.

That's hilarious! I don't think you're crazy...I think it's just how it is when you have cute stuff for your kids. I'm glad you found the shoe!

Sorry to tell you, but this wont be the last time you loose only ONE shoe, I dont blame you at all, it is one of the MOST frustrating things! Ashley (yes my 7 year old) Managed to leave both of her brand new shoes at scootney when we were there. How do you walk to the car with no shoes? I wanted to go back but my husband wouldnt let me:( boo hoo. Im glad you found it, they are cute!

Wait, somebody has to take Todd's side on this. Didn't you have a post earlier with like 25 pairs of shoes for Emersyn? And 1 itsy bitsy shoe missing makes that much of a difference? :) I do have to say you're a great mom watching out for your daughter that way.
