Busy Weekend!!

 Pheww!!  We have had a busy KID-FRIENDLY weekend.  Fun for the kids, exhausting for the parents:) First we started off picnicing at the spray park.  Emersyn was beside herself excited.  I don't know why I have not taken her sooner!! 

Ethan thought he was hot stuff...helping to shoot water at his sister.  This kid does NOT know he is ONE...HE REALLY THINKS HE IS A BIG BOY!!!

 Speaking of big kids...Emersyn is quite the BIG girl herself.  She found a group of girls and JOINED UP. She ran around with them....skipped through the water with them...and screamed like a girl with them.  I have a feeling she will LOVE elementary school next year.

 The kids played and played and had a blast.  They are loving these last summer days!!!

Saturday I woke up bright and early and headed off to do some running.  I KNOW...crazy right???

I participated in the Rodeo Run at Clover Island. This was my 3rd ever 5K and it was actually pretty fun.  My phone says that I only went 2.99 miles, so I guess their track was a bit off, but I finished in 27.34. That is my best time EVER...even while practicing.  SOOO for me it was a GREAT MORNING!!! 

Next in our Weekend O FUN came the fair parade.  If you have NEVER been to the fair parade then let me explain something to you.  It is a 2 HOUR long parade in the hottest part of the summer in the middle of downtown Kennewick with NO TREES.  I swear it was 120 degrees.  Emersyn even asked at 2 points if we could just leave and go home. 

 Ethan enjoyed his candy...and everyone elses candy...and some more of HIS candy.  He was a very sticky, hot, happy boy!!

 Emersyn eventually got so hot that she didn't even run out to get the candy...she just kind of moped around dragging her bag and waving to the floats. 

Creete and Emersyn...I think they were melted to their spots. 

 Papa Johnny helped Ethan get his fair share of candy too.

Ethan had some fun of his own.  He got to spend some time under the umbrellas and quickly learned the fun of having an umbrella war with Aunt Jenny.  He thought he was PRETTY funny!! 

We had a fun weekend so far...but I think we are all ready for a quiet Sunday and naps at Grandma's tomorrow!!!
