well lets just say they have a SMALL irregularity:) Anyway...they put me on a slippery slope of kitchen upgrades. Now that I had the salt and pepper shakers of my dreams I was ready to continue on adding some SPUNK to my kitchen cabinets. Up until now I had THESE cabinets...
They were fine cupboards and I have had no complaints for the last 6 years...but I was ready for a little facelift.
Well...the stars aligned and the DAY I wanted to go shopping for kitchen stuff was the EXACT day that my MIL had the day off and wanted to hang with my kids....PERFECT!! So I headed to my favorite thrift stores and got BUSY. And this is what I found...
I am not 100 done I think...I added a few things I already had to my finds...but I am happy for now. Any suggestions??? Well here is the quick rundown...
Hanging Vase--$9.00 Value Village--kinda spendy, but cool too
Fake cherries--Target Clearance, $2.00
Green Tin--a previous Goodwill purchase
Small pitcher and bowl--made by my sweet Grandma June
Cool Tray--Target, $15.00
Lantern--Target Clearance, $7.00
Family Sign--$20.00 Hobby Lobby (I used a 40% off coupon). SOOO I found this last, but love it most. It totally pulled everything together and I am in love with it (maybe even more than the shakers).
Van Gogh tin--Bought off Ebay 10 years ago when I was going through my Starry Night phase
Pitcher and Bowl--My dad got if for me at a yard sale a few years back
Big Cup--Todd bought if for me with some flowers in it (from Walmart)
My glass cupboard is for sure not how I want it, but here it is.
Tea kettle--Goodwill $2.00
Metal basket--Value Village $2.00
Fake pears--Target Clearance $2.00
Fake apples--Walmart--$5.00
AND then there are THESE. I LOVE them, but not in the cupboard. They are just so VINTAGE-ey and TULIP-ey. And even though they cost WAY more than I wanted them too...I couldn't say no.
Tulip glass--Value Village, 2.99 EACH!!! Yes I spent 12.00 on glasses...GULP!!
I am actually hoping to put them in THIS cupboard....
I got this cupboard at Value Village for $9.99. I plan to paint and antique it...and even out the weird crooked top...I hope it ends up cute. AND THEN...these glasses are getting a new home.
FYI..I also found this awesome chair at Value Village for $4.99 and have BIG plans for it. Right now it just gets used for....THIS....
Yep...It is Ethan's portable step stool. When Ethan wants something off the counter or wants to wash dishes...he grabs his new awesome vintage chair and drags it across the room to what he wants. BTW....check out his styling jacket (also a thrift find). He wanted to try it on and then I could not get him to take it off...not for hours. He just played and washed dishes and ran around the house in his little mini suit jacket....SOOOO CUTE. Did you notice the elbow patches??? LOVE!! I still have a LONG list of kitchen projects...but for now I am thrilled everytime I see my new cupboards...AND when I remember that it all cost me LESS than a hundred bucks. It is amazing what a little RETAIL therapy can do for your day....AND your kitchen:)
