WELLLLLLL after a lot of waiting....the day is finally here. I spent the night cuddling with my boy. We woke up at 1:30 for him to have one last bottle before fasting started. Poor guy didn't want to eat, but I knew better. Then he slept like a champ until 5. Of course he woke up smiling=)
He enjoyed some Pedialite right before we left. You would have thought he was drinking crack, but I guess when you are hungry, anything goes. Did I mention he was smiling all morning???? Oh yea...well he was. Until he would realize he was still hungry and tired. Then he would whine a bit...and then back to the smiles.
We got to the hospital around 6:30 and he got all checked in. I think it was about the time the leg band arrived on the scene that I started to feel the panic setting in. 8 hours of separation....not what any momma wants.
He got all gowned up and was not in the mood for a photo session. The 5 oclock wake up and the mornig without milk was starting to sink in. He had a brief period of SAD BABY and then fell fast asleep.
Only momentarily though. The doctor came in to chat and of course Ethan didn't want to miss a thing. He popped right up and gave the doctor a big ear to ear smile. Even the very serious anesthesia doctor had to talk in a bit of baby talk for a moment. It is just hard to resist my big smiling boy. He was wide awake and bright eyed when they came to pick him up. He smiled at the doctor who took him. He smiled as we kissed his little head. He smiled all the way down the hall way. He just could not be happier to get his head worked on!!! And now we wait......
