Kids Clothes Week (a tad late)

SOOOO I have this problem now...it is only a problem for me...but a problem still the same. What is it???  I do not blog any more.  Why is that a problem???  Since I stopped BLOGGING on my craft blog I have stopped...well....crafting.  I have ALSO stopped checking in on all of my favorite blogs.  AND amongst the NOT blogging and NOT checking my favorite blogs I have managed to miss one of my most favorite weeks over at elsiemarley.com.  Kids Clothes Week Challenge.  Usually they have this twice a year...fall and spring. For ONE WEEK...everyone in craft land takes ONE HOUR each day to focus on sewing kids clothes. I love it because you get to see what others are making AND finish up the projects that you NEVER get to.  SOOOO since I am a month late and a dollar short...I have decided to celebrate Kids Clothes week THIS WEEK at my house.
I have a daughter who will ONLY wear dresses (or occassionally a skirt), so of course dresses were on the agenda.  The other day at Craft Warehouse Emersyn caught me at a weak moment and talked me into buying her CARE BEAR fabric.  She was so excited about it that she held it in her lap on the way home.  I guess that kind of excitement is to blame for me buying something I NORMALLY would not.  BUT the reaction on her face when she woke and up saw what I had made her....TOTALLY worth it!!!  Actually she woke up early, came out and saw the dress hanging up, woke up her dad to show him, and THEN totally loved it:)  I guess she knew better than to wake me up after a night of sewing!!!
Tuesday I made...YEP another t-shirt dress.  This Dora fabric was from a SIMILAR experience a year ago.  Her love of Dora is NOT what it once was, so I figured I had better use this fabric up before she moved on from Dora FOREVER!!!  SOOO we headed to Walmart yesterday for a blank shirt.....GUESS WHO PICKED OUT THE HOLA SHIRT???  Yep...NOT me!!!  BUT Emersyn loved it...and the irony was admittedly kinda funny.  SOOO even though I like her stuff to be a bit more MATCHY MATCHY.... We went with HOLA!!  It is a goal of mine to use more FUN color combos, so I guess this is a start.  I love DANA's style over on MADE.  She dresses her daughter in some...UNUSUAL color combos...unlike the pink on pink that I like to go with.  Like THIS and THIS and THIS. We are NOT where she is...but Hola at least got us out of the box:)
I am hoping for an ETHAN project tonight....we shall see.  Kid's Clothing Week is KINDA exhausting!!!
