Ok....so tecnically this is not clothing...AND it is not for the kids....but I did sew it!!! I got this fabric out to make a skirt for Emersyn and then thought...this would be perfect in my NEW craft room. I didn't actually get a new craft room, but I did get a new sewing desk and have decided to go with bright colors for the room. SOOO this is my first OFFICIAL project for the craft room.
This is my new super cute retro style sewing machine cover. I found lots of cute tutorial on Pinterest, but I wanted to use the stuff that I already had, so I made it work. I used a new hand towel, a piece of fabric, some trim I bought to make an apron (and never made it), and some bias tape. I ust used the towel because I did not have heavy weight fabric and didn't want to quilt and bind it...so I used the towel for its sturdiness...worked like a charm...plus you don't see the inside. AND it took less than an hour and the kids were busy playing in the freshly cleaned toy room next door. It cracks me up how when you PICK up all of the toys they like to play soooo much more....like everything is brand new again!!! And now when I go to sit down and sew It will be all ready...no more little hands adjusting knobs, un-threading needles, and otherwise causing mischief....at least in the sewing room!!!
