9 month check up

Today was Emersyn's 9 month check up. She only got one shot, but she really yelled at the poor nurse who gave it to her. She only cried for a second, but she talked and yelled at her for a while. Good thing she doesn't have words yet because it really sounded like cursing (I don't know where she would learn that from).
She weighed 19 1/2 pounds (54%)
and is 29 1/2 inches (94 %)
I really secretly hoped she would have a problem, like an ear infection, that they could give us a pill for so that she would sleep better. No such luck. She is healthy, she just doesn't sleep well. Too bad!!
She has found a new favorite spot--the fridge. She likes to unload all of the food she can reach. I wish she would learn to LOAD the fridge, but no such luck. Todd informed me when he got home that this was not a fun game becuase it wasted electricity to keep the fridge open. I bet if he stayed home with her all day he would let her keep all the doors open during a snow storm if it made her happy. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do right???

I tried something new today. I played Lion King for Emersyn (I am really sick of Old McDonald). No such luck. She liked it better than The Little Mermaid (which we tried last week) but not enough to watch it without me. I enjoyed it--at one point I had to make myself get up and do the laudry. I really like the old classic Disney movies.
BY THE WAY Rosie--I was not faking it at Mutual. My crafts were ALWAYS ugly. TWO reasons: 1--because painting and cake decorating and free style crafting are not my things. 2. because my crazy friend always wanted to get done as fast as possible so that we could go play basketball with the boys.
HOWEVER---I do remember a retarded candle I made that was basically just a big lump of melted crayon. I also remember an ugly cake that even my mom didn't want to eat. I made a Christmas gift bag that I then used to give Fran her Chrismas present. She thought it was so funny that she re-gifted it back to me. We actually used that bag back and forth for birthdays and Christmas for like five years. That means it wasn't cute. I am very limited in my crafting skills and still occasionally make crafty crap that I don't even show my mom. I still doubt my ability to decorate a beautiful cake, but why would I want to??? Dairy Queen Ice cream cakes are cute and delicious!!!

Okay, I love Emersyn in the fridge. Too cute! Have you tried any other Baby Einstein movies? I think you can get some at the library and try them out to see if the likes them! :)

I'm jealous of your fun crafting day. You are so talented. I love that quilt you are doing with the circles, too cute! Also, way to go on having a day to yourself! I think when McKay was a baby, it was harder to let others watch him, but take advantage of it! If people offer, it means they really wanna do it. So enjoy a little time to yourself. Do a little grocery shopping or whatever you wanna do without a kid in tow. It is SO MUCH FASTER! :)

Plus, I'm a firm believer that kids JOIN your already established life. You don't have to turn your world upside down just for them. In fact, if you have more "me" time, your kids benefit too because you're happier! At least I always am!:)

haha. You are so funny. I can't see you not being crafty, I dunno. Your house is so cute and everything you have is always so cute.

I would take Emersyn any time, any day. But I'd want to hang out with you too! How does that work?!

OK - I'm giving you the letter A. Have a good time! :)

Well I have been stalking... or checking up on you for awhile. I found your blog off of Emily's. Hopefully that isn't to creepy. Emersyn is growing up so fast. Max will be 1 next month! That's crazy. What's really crazy is that people are actually thinking we are going to have another baby soon. Didn't I just have one? I have a hard enough time with one let alone 2. Well have an awesome day and I will see you on Sunday.
