fabric, football, friends and fun!!

So we had a busy weekend. Thursday Emersyn and I spent a long and expensive afternoon with Amy and Laney getting ready for craft day. We scared and annoyed the people at Craft Warehouse and went wild at Joann's. They were not ready for us or our kids (or the crying, chasing, cursing, and other unacceptable crafting behavior). We went a little (a lot) overboard on the craft buying and I better stay away from a fabric store for months after what I did.
Friday was a cleaning day. Todd was off work, so he got to babysit and I got to work-work-work. I was having company two days in a row and I knew I had to take advatage of my husband while I could.
Here is Emersyn rockin' her valentine p.j.'s. Thanks Gramma Maywalley (this is how I think Emersyn would say your name if she could talk).

Saturday I had our first annual crafting day at my house. Amy, Fran, Bobbie and I (and no babies) spent the whole day crafting. Franny cut out fabric, Amy cut out fabric, I ate lots of snacks, and Bobbie supervised. We had some fun and some accidents (rotary cutter gone wild) and a lot of food. What else could we ask for. I am ready to start planning craft day a 'la February. Plus my little sweetie went to visit her Grandma. I forgot what it was like to do anything by myself. It was wierd, but I'm not gonna lie--It was great. I knew Emersyn was having a great time (with grandma) and so I had a great time. I also realized that I really need to take a break more often. Lots of people offer to hang out with Emersyn, but I never take them up on it. She has grandparents, aunts and uncles who would all love to watch her for a few hours. Does anyone else feel the need to keep their kids close by at all times????
ANYWAY...
at craft day I started off slow, but then got in my grove. I started off tying this baby quilt which I finished before, but kept putting off the final step.
Then I moved on to making this bag. We wresled each other for a while, but I quickly had to put it into time out and get on with my life. If I finish it some day I will give you an update--unless it keeps getting weirder.

I did finish this cute little cell phone pocket on the lining which I am very proud of. Pain in the butt, but very cute--for a pocket!!

Amy and I decided that one day just was not enough, so we planned an impromptu superbowl/craft pary for Sunday (with a few convincing phone calls to our husbands). Todd's parents, my dad, and the Wiesler crew all got together. Everyone watched the game upstairs in the theater while Amy and I crafted our brains out downstairs. It was harder with babies and interruptions, but we still got quite a bit accomplished. My house however may never be the same. I looked like I was robbed.

Crafting Central.
After who knows how many hours (and snack breaks) the little girls were tired of football AND crafting. Of course my only solution---Baby Einstein Old Mcdonalds Farm of course. Her is Emersyn showing Delaney how to properly watch the sheep.
Laney had her own idea of the best seat in the house.
My project today...was this quilt. I got it put together, but was only able to sew on one circle so far. There will be some embroidery on it some day, but maybe not till February's craft day. It might have to join the bag in time out.

Emersyn is heading to the doctor tomorrow for her 9 month well check. I will let you know how she measures up--some of you care:) Right now she is sleeping in her crib--Whoop Whoop.
