We are still trying to get over being sick. Poor Emersyn has barely been able to sleep because of her stuffy nose and coughing. So on Saturday we had a bit of an early Easter miracle. She was sitting on the floor between my legs watching Baby Einstein when she started to head bob. It was not nap time and was actually right about lunch time, but I just let her keep bobbing. Pretty soon she just put her head back on me and fell asleep. Now this might not seem weird to many of you, but trust me--my kid does not just drop off to sleep. Usually it takes rocking, and music, and bouncing, and bottles, and stories, and more rocking, and about an hour, and sometimes a gift from God to get her to drop off for a nap. So for her to just lay her head down and snooze shocked me pretty good. The great part though was that I layed her down on the living room floor and she slept there for over 2 hours. SHE NEVER NAPS FOR 2 HOURS:) That is when I knew that my baby was not feeling good--to nap and to miss lunch at the same time--unheard of:)
Em has fallen in love with "outside." She doesn't do much out there, but she just thinks it is more fun than inside I guess. She mostly walks around and touches stuff and laughs, but she thinks it is the greatest. Saturday she helped me plant some flowers and found her 2nd new love--dirt. She is a digger. She has no fear of getting dirty or wet--she loved everything about it!!!
Dirty Dirty Dirty!!!
Actually---I should have said she loves everything about going outside EXCEPT...coming back inside. This is the face and attitude I get when mommy has had enough fresh air.
A little bit of a tantrum??? You bet ya. Then she got mad of course because I was taking pictures of her and laughing instead of feeling sorry for her. Poor kid!!:)
We spent Easter Sunday with Todd's family at his mom's house in Kennewick. Here are some pictures of the Easter Princess.
It was actually kinda funny. Emersyn got this dress over a year ago at one of her baby showers. I pulled it outta the tub and thought--hey this will make a good Easter dress. Well when we got to Easter, Todd's cousins arrived and their daughter had the exact same dress. What are the odds of that??
We had an Eater egg hunt and Todd pretty much did most of the hunting. Em was really more interested in the dandelions than the eggs. She would stop to pick every one of them and then put them into her basket--or her mouth.
She did get the hang of it towards the end, but I think she was a little confused as to why there were eggs in the yard in the first place???
All in all though she was one happy little Easter bunny. Shortly after all of the fun she zonked out for a couple hours on Grandma's floor. I think I might just get rid of her crib and get some big floor pillows for her roon.
Now we are counting down the days until her birthday. She is really growing and changing so much these days. Sometimes when she wakes up I swear she has grown over night. Happy late Easter everyone!!
