SOOOO we have been suffering from teething hell at our house. I cannot believe how horrible teething can be for these poor little kiddos--No sleeping, little eating, whining, crying, screaming--and Emersyn is having a hard time too!!
We even made a trip to the doctor this morning to rule out an ear infection--NOPE--just plugged ears from teething. WHAT SYMPTOM DOES NOT COME WITH TEETHING??? I feel like every problem my child has has occurred because of teething. OK--there is my vent for the day.
The only saving grace for today was the sunshine--YAY!! We went for a long walk in the sunshine and it seemed to make all of the yuckiness go away. I LOVE SPRING!!! We saw ponies, and met puppies, and talked to strangers--everyone is happier when the weather gets nice!
Despite the teeth and the horribleness, Emersyn has remained cute(maybe even cuter). She is learning so much every day. She has become quite the talker too. She jabbers on all day long, but now some of the sounds have turned into words. Her newest additions: mama (I know this should have been first), nana (grandma and bananna), night night, tickle-tickle, moo, baa (like what the sheep says). Unfortunately she has not learned what the pig says--we are working on that one. She also thinks she knows how to snap--she can do it, but no sound--actually the funniest thing ever. Music comes on and she starts snapping away. OR even funnier, when I am trying to put her to sleep she lays there and practices snapping--it isn't funny at the time, but looking back...anyway.
She has gotten over her love of tampons and moved onto Q-tips. Good thing they are like a dollar a box because she carries them around like candy. No matter where I hide them, she comes out with a handful of q-tips. Again--not cute at the time--blah blah blah. What can you do?? I like to pick my battles, and I would rather pick up a few (thousand) q-tips off the floor.
I love that she has one in her mouth like a little baby cigarette:)
This is what happens when daddy is allowed to dress the baby--he he! She tried so hard to walk normal in those piggies, but they were really making her mad. Of course I was following her around trying to get a picture and her dad was chasing her--no sympathy from us. Doesn't she look sad about her new teeth:(
Happy Spring Everyone!!! The Easter Bunny is ready to drop off your chocolate bunnies--unless her mommy eats them all first.
Emersyn and I did not leave the house from Tuesday until Friday--Can you say stir crazy??? So I did get a bit of sewing done. Here are the finished projects--3 items to mark off my list of unfinished sewing--YAY!!! First--my bunny wall hanging (I still need buttons to hang it, but it WAS finished before Easter!!)
Then there is my tablerunner. I quilted it and put the binding on. IT IS FINISHED and on the table--WHOOOHOO!!
I also made an easy little tablerunner for my sister. Her birthday is coming up--no worries she does not read my blog--AND it was finished BEFORE her birthday. I really deserve a hand too because I have not started ANY new projects either. It feels so good to actually finish stuff--I am going to continue working my way down the never ending list....I will keep you posted.
Emersyn has newly acquired a love of sewing also. If you follow the trail of thread.....
you find one very happy little girl. She played with this thread for at least 30 minutes--which is much longer than her usual attention span. I think it was because she knew she was not supposed to have it. She did not know that I KNEW where she was and what she was doing, but again--I let this one go and enjoyed 30 minutes of my own---well worth some soggy thread if you ask me!!
So that is what the Perkins are up to these days--come visit if you are in the neighborhood. AND---Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the tooth fairy will visit our house tonight and let us sleep!!!!

Jenny's table runner turned out so cute! Good job! I'm definitely game for a craft day. I think the 18th is open - what do you think?
You've inspired me to start my own list of unfinished projects. Watch for it on my blog later today, maybe. :)
I love these new pics of her! I've heard of "cow tipping" but never "Q tipping." : )
I sure do have an adorable granddaughter !!
