Q is for Quilting

I am soooo close to the end of the alphabet. I am NOT going to quit now. SOOOO moving on to the letter Q.
I have recently started quilting. It makes me laugh to think of it too because growing up I did not like to sew. My mom tried to teach me, but I have little or no patience, so it did not work. In junior high Home Ec, I had to bring my project home so my mom could "help" me finish sewing it on time. But a few years back I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas and actually got one. I started sewing here and there, but just the last few years really got sewing. And now for the last few months, Amy and I have been making quite the collection of fabric and patterns. Marcie listed all of her unfinished projects and challenged others to do the same, but nobody has the time to scroll through all of mine, so I only took pictures of the ones I am currently trying to finish. I AM making progress on my list though and am feeling very proud of myself:) I may even be allowed to buy something new again soon--Yay!!!
So here are my current projects. I am trying to finish a few easy and quick quilts for graduation presents for the senior cheerleaders, but quick and easy kinda turned into time consuming and troublesome!!!
This first one is actually on quilting frames in my front room as we speak. Here is the back--which for some dang reason I have decided to hand quilt--sigh!!

Here is the front. Hard to take a picture of the underneath of the quilt while it is on frames, but I will be finished soon (knock on wood) and will post a completed picture. (although am sure nobody cares--except Marcie)

This one is waiting patienly to be quilted. SO ONCE AGAIN--very close to being completed!!

I love the bright colors of this one. It is also done and waiting to be quilted--notice a theme here??? It had a little run in with my kitty though--remember my earlier post?? So it is in time out for a little while:)
My binding is all ready to go---I just need the quilts to be done now!!!

This is the makings of another graduation quilt. These fabrics will magically turn into this quilt...

I actually finished this quilt top shortly after I took the pictures, so that is another one to mark off of my list--YAY!!!
AND these will be making this pattern....
After that, I only have 1 more graduation quilt to make, but I have not even cut that fabric yet, so that will be a post for another day. I do however have a tablerunner all ready to be brought to life. These pretty spring charm squares are going to make this fun tablerunner. I don't actually have a place for this one, or a reason for making it, but I have the fabric, the pattern and the desire, so I guess I will make it anyway. Maybe I will give it away to a needy table:)

So that is what I am currently working on and I cannot wait to get all of the graduation stuff done so that I can start a few REALLY fun and amazing projects that I bought at the quilt show. First though I have to work my way down this darn list:(

Your quilts are awesome! I should just hire you to get mine done--then maybe they actually would get done! You've got quite the talent--good luck getting it all done!

You don't probably remember me, but you worked at the high school with my husband, Tom Walker. I am a fellow quilter and I think you are doing amazing work. I can't believe you are tackling hand quilting with that big frame! I can't wait to see your completed quilts (so there is someone else out there besides Marcie!). Have a great day!

of course, I love all of your projects and I can't wait for a craft day! I'm staying home with Mom for a few weeks, so maybe I'll get something done!!
