Guess who has officially joined the world of ORGANIZED SPORTS???? Yep...Emersyn is a soccer player. This week we headed out to Burbank to join Gracelyn for a few weeks of soccer. Emersyn has been asking every day if it was SOCCER DAY...and FINALLY it was. She could not be ANY happier!!!
On the first day of practice I woke her up from her nap and told her we needed to change her out of her nice dress for soccer practice. I told her to pick out some play clothes to wear and she picked out another dress. I asked her if she was sure she wanted to wear a dress and she told me it was a PLAY DRESS. I am not sure I will ever get her into a pair of pants again!!!
Ethan and Kayl hung out in the wagon. They were perfectly happy to sit there and eat EVERY snack we had in our diaper bag. Ethan taught Kayl the joys of eating fruit snacks and popcorn. Poor Kayl might not have been READY to eat big boy snacks, but he learned pretty quick!!
On day two of practice I got Emersyn to wear a skirt at least. But ONLY because I told her she could wear her chipmunk shirt:) Next week maybe I can talk her into a skirt with leggings attached...that is ONE STEP CLOSER TO PANTS...haha!!
Em tries so hard at practice. She is the youngest on the team. She is 3, Grace is 4, and I think most of the rest are in Kindergarten. That doesn't bother Em. She goes a thousand miles an hour. She runs her hardest. She kicks her little legs as fast as she can (even if the ball is no where near her). She loves it!! I cannt wait to see what happens in her games. After practice we headed to the car and Emersyn took off at a full run. I yelled at her to stop because we were by a busy road. She turned around, put her hands on her hips and told me "MOM, my coach told me I needed to practice running!!" The girl can really listen. She is NOT going to be the star of the team, but at least she listens to the directions:) Of course she also managed to work in an impromtu game of ring-around-the-rosey on the field AND carry her new soccer friend Sami down the field. TOO FUNNY!!! 3 year old soccer MIGHT just make the whole PARENTING THING worth it!!
