Well it is Spring...and LOVE is in the air. EVEN at Emersyn's pre-school. SERIOUSLY!!! She has picked out a little guy to be her special FRIEND!! OLIVER. We hear about Oliver ALOT at our house. I will give her a little credit...he is a cutie....but MY GOSH. Enough is enough!!
The other day Emersyn told me she wanted a NEW special hairdo. She told me what she a side bun, a braid, and TWO hair clips. PHEWW...that is a lot to take in at eight in the morning. BUT we pulled it off. She was SUPER excited. Then the truth came out. She ran and looked in the mirror and came and and said..."I hope Oliver likes it!!!" And there it was. She didn't just want cute hair...she wanted cute hair FOR A BOY!!!
Then of course she wanted a photo shoot too!! She is such a girl:) The day was not over yet though. When I showed up to pick her up from pre-school her best friend (Ellyse) and her mom were having a little chat with the teacher. I heard something about Ellyse being sad because her friends were not playing with her anymore. AS I moved ahead to try to find my little LOVE BIRD, I saw them. Oliver and Emersyn!! They were standing alone...over by the fence...HOLDING HANDS. What the heck??? I yelled "Emersyn, tell Oliver Goodbye and let's go!!" She gives hime a big old hug before running over. I seriously felt like I was picking up my middle schooler from an after school dance.
On the way home we had a little TALK. We talked about lots of things, but mostly about being friends with LOTS of people and not chosing ONE friend OVER another. And then it happened. I saw my future flashing before my eyes. Emersyn burst into tears, ran to her room, and slammed the door. YES she is only 3. Speaking of only being 3, she also used the following phrases...BUT I LOVE HIM!!!....But I don't wanna be LITTLE anymore!!....But he lets me call him ALVIN!!. I mean how do you argue with that??? He lets her pretend he is a chipmunk....maybe he IS THE ONE!!! ARGHHH...I seriously thought I had at least 10 years before I had to deal with teenage emotions. This mothering thing....it really is harder than it looks!!!
